I am in charge of managing and monitoring several projects that falls in the field of energy efficiency, such as the Arab Guidelines for improving energy efficiency in the generation, transmission, distribution and end use of electricity which is a tool for evaluating the progress and the quality of national energy efficiency action plans on an annual basis and measuring the energy savings (either by actions with a quantifiable saving or the actions which does not automatically lead to quantifiable energy savings, such as regulatory, legal and administrative actions, capacity building measures, or public relations and media actions to promote energy efficiency within a society).
I am also in charge of implementing two main projects in the Arab Region:
- The Solar Heating Arab Mark and Certification Initiative (SHAMCI) wich is the first Arab certification scheme for solar thermal products and services in the Arab region.
- The Pan-Arab certification for energy professionals “Certified Energy Management Professional” (PA-CEMP) program, which is an in-depth professional certification program for Energy Mangers tailored for the Arab region.
Seconded by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) to support the energy department at the League of Arab States to advance the best interest of its member states, concerning clean energy policy dialogues, strategies, technologies and capacity development, via regional guidelines and technical standards, in order to ensure sustainable energy development across the Arab region.
Technical Consultant (in Morocco):
- Working on the global initiative RISE (Readiness for Investment in Sustainable Energy) in Morocco, launched by World Bank Group. The project measures country performances through indicators, and monitors progress to help improve the climate for private sector investments in sustainable energy, in over of 110 countries, by identifying what institutional, regulatory and legislative systems supports investments in the three focus areas: Energy Access, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy.
- Conducting a Socio-Economic Impacts Assessment of utility scale power projects for the 2nd phase of Moroccan integrated wind program in five locations. This study was under the cooperation framework agreement signed between the Association of Renewable Energy Solutions for the Mediterranean «RES4MED» & Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency «RCREEE».
Vocational Internship as part of the Arab Program for Sustainable Energy Youth (APSEY) organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency «RCREEE». The program aims to boost technical and operational capacities of the region’s young talents interested in renewable energy and energy efficiency fields, for a hands-on experience in the center’s research and analysis, policy briefs, technical assistance, and other related activities.
The two main topics that I have worked on, were:
- The Solar Heating Arab Mark and Certification Initiative (SHAMCI).
- The Arab Future Energy Index - RE Edition & EE Edition 2015 (AFEX).
Energy Efficiency audit for industrial boiler and gas-turbine generator in the thermal power station (TGM2) at the National Office of Electricity & Water - Electricity Division.
The BSc in Physics and Mechanics of Energy, is a basic study program with dominance of physics, combined with different modules such as mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics, chemistry, computer science and communication techniques and methodology. The main objective of this program is the acquisition of theoretical and experimental knowledge base in modern physics and introduction to the scientific process.
The MSC in "Renewable Energies Engineering" aims to train specialists, researchers, and high-level corporate actors in the field of sustainable energy including Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Wind, Hydro, and Bioenergies. This Master has the primary objective of the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, methodological tools, and real project practices necessary to make operational use of clean practices in the energy sector.
High School degree in Experimental Sciences: Mathematics - Chemistry - Physics - natural sciences - English - French - Philosophy.
