On 62 MW, HFO operated power plant, performing following activities:
● Supervision of control room operation team.
● Coordination with NPCC, RCC and GEPCO for complex MW generation delivery and control.
● Create and maintain comprehensive daily and monthly documentation.
● Reporting to plant manager for operational and maintenance updates.
● Involvement in repairing and maintenance of system.
● Debugging faults by reading user manuals and tracing wiring diagrams.
● Energizing and de-energizing sequence for start-up/shutdown of whole power system.
● Testing of power equipment especially transformers, generators, motors, CTs and PTs.
● Supervision of overall system including CCTV system, weather station, Firefighting system, battery banks, metering panel etc.
Renewable Energy Resource Mapping Project: 2015-May 2016
The project is World Bank funded and it involves mapping of biomass resources available in Pakistan. PITCO is providing consultancy services in obtaining the relevant data and its analysis. Assisted project team in following activities:
● Detailed review of existing documentation relevant for biomass mapping exercise.
● Outreached to government, non-government organizations and other stakeholders relevant to biomass mapping.
● Categorization of key feedstock sources and priority regions.
● Identification of key obstacles and constraints to biomass energy use.
● Actual data collection and analysis.
Energy Efficiency and Capacity Project (EEC): 2012-2014
EEC improves the power supply situation in Pakistan by reducing losses in the areas of Demand Side Management across all 9 power distribution companies of Pakistan through: Energy Efficiency in Agriculture, Inefficient Industrial Motor Replacements and LT Capacitor Installation Program.
Industrial Motor Efficiency and Improvement Project (IMEIP)
Provides consultancy and effective solutions for Energy Conservation, Resource Conservation and Process Optimization in these Industrial Sectors; Chemical, Textile (Spinning and Weaving) and Cement Industries. The program engagement is through three leading Motor Companies supplying efficient motors (ABB, SIEMENS and WEG/AVANCEON) of over 2100 inefficient industrial motors over 60 different industries. I perform these duties in Project:
● Technical Data Collection, Preparation of Energy Audit Report after Energy Efficient Technologies Implementations
● Present an overview of its energy effectiveness and utility.
● Hands-on experience of sophisticated equipment like Thermal Imager, Energy Meter, Power Quality Analyzer, Vibro-meter, Tachometer and Temperature Analyzer etc.
Tube Well Efficiency Improvement Program (TWEIP)
The Tube well Efficiency Improvement Program (TWEIP) envisaged replacement of 11000 inefficient Tube wells pump sets with energy efficient pump sets across the country. The Municipalities Pump Replacement Project (MPRP) was also part of this project which targeted to replace 262 in efficient pump sets in the publically-owned water and sewage utilities, expected to result in energy savings of 3.37 MW. MPRP resulted in 201 pump set replacements, realizing energy savings of 2.36 MW.
In team of professional engineers I avail opportunity to perform these activities in the project:
● Energy audit of farmer tube wells and Municipal Pump sets for collection of general information about the pump set, civil work conditions, measurements of electrical values, water discharge, and calculations of head, efficiency and flow of existing pump set.
● Preparation of Sizing Methodology to ensure precise resizing of new pump set for enhanced efficiency and energy savings.
● Pre-installation Energy Audits to analyze current energy consumption of motors
● Post installation energy audits to ensure realization of envisioned energy savings and validate findings.
● Data verification and post audit data analysis regarding electrical and mechanical section of deep well turbines, centrifugal and submersible pump sets.
LT Capacitor Replacement Project:
The project activity involved the energy audit of tube well sites and installation or replacement of inefficient LT capacitors at the tube well sites. The LT Capacitor Installation project included replacement of Low Tension (LT) capacitors on agriculture Tube wells.
The activities performed under this project Included:
● Training of Audit Teams on use of equipment and adherence to the guidelines mentioned in the audit protocol.
● Overview of all field activities
● Preparation of comprehensive onsite Energy Audit (pre & post installation) methodologies for measurements and collection of key electrical parameters of LT Capacitors.
● Preparation of LT Capacitor sizing methodology
Projects
• Designing of 2.5 KW Solar System for Research and testing purpose of Hi-Tech Solar Energy Department. Supervised other team members on the site for Installation of designed system.(Aug 2012 -Dec 2012)
• Work for Feasibility, Process design and Development of biogas plants and bio methane upgrading units.
• Work with Laboratory tests (batch/continuous), substrate analysis, process optimization, gas and bio fertilizer quality.
• Introduce advanced technologies and services that support the efficient design, supply and operation of waste-to-energy plants and biogas processes.
• Provide Feasibility Reports with solutions to industries and commercial set-ups to process their organic wastes with collaboration of SNGPL and EPD.
• Assisted farmer groups to reduce environmental impacts (nutrient emissions, agro-chemical applications, GHG emissions).
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and complete technical support for ADs, Biogas up gradation and energy management solutions.
University Projects: • Worked as a Team Leader. PLC Automated Bottle Filling System(Conveyer belt designing using DC Motors, AC solenoid for flow control and Infrared Sensors for objects detection). • Worked as a Team Leader. Power Factor Meter using CTs, PIC Microcontroller and MATLAB GUI. During my educational career, I learn practical knowledge with theoretical background. I hardly miss any additional practical workshop of technical and managerial skills. SDH additional course offered in UET, Lahore. It is an international standard for high speed telecommunication over optical/electrical networks. At the end of course, test was carried and eligible student were certified.
Received Bronze Medal from Punjab Government and got 3rd prize in Board of Intermediate and Secondary Edcation Lahore
Received Excellent Student Award on School Level.
