• Monitoring site activities to ensure that QHSE Standards are compiled as per Project HSE Plan/ QCS 2014.
• Delegate responsibilities to Junior Safety Officers to provide an effective safety monitoring and supervisor support program.
• Assisting with site inspections, hazard assessments etc.
• Promoting safe work practices & improving behavioral safety by Safe / Unsafe Act & conditions
• HSE Data analysis including Inductions / Training and Incident Reporting Registers.
• Eliminating unsafe act / conditions by site supervision
• Inspection lifting gears, equipment etc. are color coded.
• Verify all scaffolding are proper tagged and a safe condition.
• Closely monitor high risk activities; confined space entry, gas testing, lifting activities, work at height etc.
• Preventing workforce from health hazards arising due to heat stress.
• Promote safe work practices and accident / injury prevention activities.
• Building team work with colleague to achieve safety culture by educate the workers
• Investigate incidents (accidents, near misses, emergencies) and submit full report to Company Safety Manager and other concerned managers
• Carry out emergency preparedness drills (fire, medical) on site.
• Ensure that work activities on site is subjected to hazard identification and risk assessment process.
• Conducting Investigation and immediately reporting accidents or dangerous occurrences recommending means of preventing recurrence.
• To coordinate with Client Safety management team, Liaison with contractors at times of joint responsibilities
• Participating on HSE high profile tour, progress meetings, Safety meetings etc.
• Ensuring workplaces compliance to health and safety legislation by carrying out daily site safety inspection, safety audit and various training / induction programs.
• Identifying critical parameters and processes which are hazardous in nature; undertaking steps for curtailing emergencies / associated risks and ensuring greenery.
• Conducting Job Safety Analysis & Job Hazard Analysis for various civil and mechanical activities and implementing its scope while executing them.
• Carrying out inspections for construction equipment’s and permits to work along with attached documents at site prior to starts work.
• Preparing & maintaining various reports including the results of inspections and investigations.
• Advising employees about safe and healthy work practices and ensuring safety of supervisors.

Implementation of PTW Systems
Site Safety Policies including sub-contractors as per clients HSE Policy.
Confined space entry regulations and emergency evacuation procedures
Safety Rules while carrying out heavy lifting, Erection, Men & Material Transportation.
Environmental & Pollution Control Procedures at site.
• Monitoring the vehicles movement engaged in construction activities, Road Signals, Traffic and Security Personnel.
• Responsible in maintaining a register for all the accidents and near misses that happen during the Project, publicize these statistics and update in a daily manner
• Ensure a positive attitude with all personnel to ensure the safety standards are complied with continual improvements.
• Performs a primary function of managing the overall implementation of the client-approved specific Safety / Loss Prevention Program on the project, checks and ensures compliance of Project requirements.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of GMR’s Safety and Loss Prevention Program including Safe Work Practices/Safe Job Procedures and the Site Emergency Response Plan
• Monitor the safety performance of all on-site workers to ensure that all workers on the site work safely
• Encourage and educate employees to take precautions and adhere to safety rules to protect themselves and the equipment they use from damage
• Identify and review various health and safety concerns specific to the work site and ensure construction site activities do not put non-construction site people outside of the site at risk
• Investigate all injuries, accidents and near misses. Identify the causes and advise on any improvement in safety standards that need to be made
• Review accident summary reports and take appropriate action when accident trends are unfavorable
• Ensure safety reports and data are collected and submitted to the General Superintendent and/or the Vice Presidents as required, including:
a) man-hours worked and safety logistics
b) copies of accident reports and W.C.B. forms (submitted to the GMR Safety Administration (Head Office) for forwarding to the W.C.B.)
c) description of any unsafe conditions discovered and steps taken to correct those conditions
d) copy of inspection reports on equipment
e) copy of safety inspection checklists or visit summary reports;
f) copy of audit reports and actions taken
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and enforce OH&S legislation and codes of practice
• Provide internal or arrange external safety training to employees
• Administer the WHMIS training program
• Ensure MSDS of all controlled products on site are up-to-date and available to the workers at all times
• Act as a liaison with the government (OH&S), WCB, ambulance services and hospitals, management, subcontractors and workers regarding aspects of health and safety on and off the job
• Ensure daily risk assessments are being conducted as per GMR policy
