GQC is in the field of Training and Management consulting with primary focus on Quality and Food safety.
In my role as a Business Development Manager, my primary responsibility is to develop the Logisitcs and Supply Chain stream.
Al Seer Group is one of the largest FMCG distributors of the MENA region and has offices in UAE and Oman. In my additional role as ‘QA Officer / FSTL’, I am reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager as well as the GM - Corporate Services.
• As a Food Safety Team Leader (ISO 22000:2005), my responsibilities include but not limited to
o To Manage a Food Safety team and organize it’s work,
o To ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members,
o To ensure that the food safety management system is established, implemented, maintained and updated, and
o To report to the organization’s top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system.
• As the QA Officer, the responsibilities include but not limited to
o Leading the HACCP team to maintain the Food Safety Standards set by the Regulatory Authorities.
o Measuring and maintaining Customer Service Standards
o Supervising the Help-desk
o Leading External and Internal Audits
In my role as ‘Supervisor - Inbound Logistics’, I am reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager and the core purposes of job are:
• Handling of in-bound freight (Import) and customs clearance for imports.
• Identify commercial revenue / Duty saving opportunities through government schemes.
• Ensure freight forwarders meet transit times as per contract. Conduct timely reviews & take appropriate steps for corrections.
• Ensure Customs brokers carry out customs clearance as per contract time period. Conduct timely reviews & take appropriate steps for corrections.
• Manage annual inbound freight & brokerage cost to budget.
• Ensure compliance to laws governing freight movement and customs clearance.
• Daily management and coordination of shipments. Track and trace all in-bound shipments moved.
• Any other project/work assigned by management.
• To manage the inbound facility ensuring daily accurate receipt & storage of all materials in a timely manner following strict operating procedures and agreed service levels.
• Ensure that all necessary resources are available and that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support the Operations Manager to achieve continuous improvements in all areas of responsibility, which includes:
o To manage a team, including 2 Store in-charges, 2 store keepers, 4 forklift operators and warehouse helpers, assigned to me for the inbound function.
o To ensure that the inbound facilities are fully utilised.
o Assist in the training and development of my team so the company can achieve its Human Resource targets.
o Ensure all Health & Safety standards are met.
o Ensure that all warehousing processes and activities adhere to the SOPs and company’s Quality policy.
Conducted classroom training on Store-keeping and computerized inventory control.
Abeyan General Trading is part of Circle Holdings with interests in Shipping, Consmetics Distribution (including the F1 range), security systems etc.
Played a pivotal role in
o Identifying Operational bottlenecks and rectifying them.
o Revamping the Warehouse operations.
o Prepared operations manuals and job descriptions.
o Streamlining the transportation operations.
o Optimizing the storage area.
Actively participated in and made recommendations during an ERP implementation.

Sunrise City Group is a leading retailer in Dubai which caters manily to Asian expatriates. The Comapany is in operation for more than 30 years and is on the threshold of rapid expansion in UAE as well as in India.
My role is primarily to set up a Warehousing and Distribution facility which can cater to the growing needs of the business.
1) Optimizing the storage area: By doing this I will be able to cater to the business when the operations grow from 5 to 8 outlets withion this year.
2) Automating the productions units: Spices and pulses produced and/or packed in the company's own label is one of the USPs of the group. By automating, we will reduce manual labour, increase output which will result in increase in sales.
3) Streamling the transportation operations: To bring the fleet of 14 vehicles under one roof to reduce operational costs and to improve customer service.
4) Centralising the local purchases: To control inventory movement and purchases.
5) Centralising the vegetable purchases: Another USP which needs to be taken care of. By doing this we will be able to reduce wastages and control Inventory and purchases.
6) Implementing a WMS system: For better inventory control.
I was handling IT as an additional responsibility to bring the best business practices and to streamline operations.
I was also involved in the training of the staff in the warehouse as well as in the supermarkets on Inventory control, document control, merchandising, customer service etc.
With my experience in Inventory Control, System support and implementation and end user training, I was asked to take charge of setting up and running a ditribution centre for FMCG items inside the Jebel Ali Freezone.
This facility has been setup as a 'Stress test' base for the new business processed the company was planning to implement in their Logistics and Distribution strategy which included Goods picking using PDAs, doing away with Batch Management, reducing Inventory carrying cost by better managing the procurement process, better fleet management etc.
I set these processes, tested it and trained the end users singlehandedly. E-clearance was succesfully implemented and is being used for all the current deliveries to all our supermarkets in DXB and SHJ.
In the course of the project, I had to liaise with the Dubai Municipality and Customs on various operational requirements.
I have been involved in setup of 6 new stores and I have hands on experience in setting up and trouble shooting servers and complete POS systems.
• Processing and tracking of Principal Orders, Sales Orders, Sales/Service Credit/Debit notes. Preparing GRNs. Processing Customer Payments. Interacting with Market Manager, Stream Finance Manager, Field Sales Managers, IS Department, Sales Force, C & F Dept. etc., during the course of the work.
• During my tenure, I have had the opportunity to work with two ERP systems viz. MAPICS and Tetra Chameleon 2000 and have handled the change over from MAPICS to C'2000 very effectively and was awarded with "Employee of the Month Award".
The course covered various aspects of Logistics viz. Transportation, Warehousing, Information Technology, Material Management and Packaging. Provided an overview of documentation and discussed in detail areas such as INCOTERMS, Bills of Lading, L/C etc.
A Computer course conducted by the National Council for Vocational Training, Govt. of India.
