Coordinator, with 17 years of experience in operating the Radio Telex and Radar communications gadgets for Marine
surveillance and a safe coordination of field operations with ‟information’s” in the Oil & Gas industries both onshore and
offshore. A competent Camp / Rig administrator, and coordinator of the welfare and movements of Cargo, Personnel, Marine
vessels, and Helicopter operations in / out of the field of operations in a safe manner, with strict compliance to the safety standards and emergency procedures of the Oil & Gas industries, without compromising the rules and regulations of the
International Maritime Organization (IMO) as regards maritime operations.
Maintain all round Radar/Vmas surveillance of the common Field 2/5Nm radius of the OFON OFQ.
Monitor the field security layout under the responsibility of the OIM/RSES
Observe and report the Maritime traffic situations around the field
Provide appropriate challenge and response for effective security interventions
Monitor and assign sporting sectors for effective security cover and patrols
Operates the radio link between the shore, air and sea, and the OFON OFQ,
Performs radio watch, and ensures transmitting of incoming and outgoing messages
Monitor helicopter arrival/dispatch operations to/from base station and meteorological information
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the MSA/PFSO
Operate the surveillance radar and perform 12 hourly radar watch (2 watch system)
Maintain periodic radio checks with the security boats and working vessels in the field
Direct incoming and outgoing traffics through assigned sector of approaches
Maintain accurate log of Maritime situations and interventions in the field.
Take active part in the field security drills and exercises
Operates the communication equipment when required (ex: emergency),
Stand by radio, emission of outgoing messages, as instructed by the Marine Superintendent/MOM
Liaises with helicopter(s) and all field vessels’ spread,
Established and Maintained Communications with Air and Sea Transporters within Akpo field for the safe arrivals / departures of cargo and Personnel through Radio and Telephone equipment’s.
Controlled all shipping and maritime movements on Akpo field under the direct supervisions of the marine superintendent and ensure that vessels entering, bathing and leaving Akpo field safely.
Acted as instructed by the marine superintendent on Akpo field during emergencies by coordinating all marine spread requirements for evacuation and rescue operations.
Observed all Akpo field operations, issue shipping notices, check navigational aids within the Akpo Fpso marine exclusion zone for defects, and receive / transmit meteorological data.
Controlled and monitored all navigation and shipping movements in and around Akpo field by maintaining a close watch on the (RADAR, VHF, HF, IMMASAT-C RADIOS & CCTV) for safe operations.
Issued daily reports on Marine, Air, Cargo and Personnel movements within Akpo Fpso to the marine superintendent and other concerned parties.
Monitored and allocated Radio channels for immediate assistance as required during emergency safety drills, Medevac, also assist to maintain communications with concerned parties.
Observed the performance of Communications and Navigational gadgets within the Radio room and ensured they’re functional.
Log in /out all vessels and flight movements, and giving weather updates and deck clearance to Helicopter pilots after confirming heli-deck availability from the HLO, for landing.
Always ensured that crash and rescue vessels and firefighting equipment’s are positioned for landing / takeoff, and restrictions of all vessels movements in the vicinity of 500 meters. Off the helicopter winch math move by giving prior notices.
