I handle revenue planning and tariffing for the Roaming Business, which is part of Carrier & Wholesale Department. My role includes negotiations with operators for IOT / Preferred Roaming Agreements for roaming traffic and finding revenue opportunities and generate ideas for cost reduction. It includes taking steering decisions to achieve the slabs / targets and to steer to low cost networks to reduce outroaming cost. It involves analysing data and creating MIS and monthly reports for top management.

As Head of Usage and Retention & Value Added Services (VAS), I am managing a team of eight people to increase usage and revenue from existing Landline & Broadband customers by launching new services, VAS and attractive loyalty schemes.

This involves Cross selling/Upselling of Value Added Services & Topups to increase ARPU. It also includes retention and loyalty measures by keeping track of the health of the subscriber base and taking proactive steps to prevent churn. We launch new VAS service and manage it throughout the complete life cycle to deliver targeted number of customers and revenue from these VAS.

This role involves analyzing business plans & preparing feasibility reports of investments, costs, returns and IRR to analyze new opportunities and sectors. I work with the divisions in the development of solutions / proposals that can be competitive, operationally and financially sound by forecasting business trends, mapping competitive landscape, and conducting environment and regulatory scan.

I am also developing a retail competency centre, which will act as internal and external consulting resource for various expansions planned by Jumbo. This involves working with the current Retail & Distribution teams in increasing footfalls, revenues and profit margins through process improvements.

This involves Customer Life Cycle Management, New Product Planning, Cross selling/Upselling, Pricing, Revenue planning and forecasting. I was responsible for managing the prepaid service features and recharge mechanism to create products as per customer requirements. It also included retention and loyalty measures by keeping track of the health of the subscriber base and taking proactive steps to prevent churn. Increasing Net revenues by over 50% in 6 months and reducing churn drastically have been key achievements.

Key Achievements:
Won an Award for Highest Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) Growth across all 23 circles of Airtel in Quarter-3 (Oct - Dec 2005) of 2005
Additional Responsibilities:
Single point of contact for Business Intelligence system (Data warehouse implemented by Teradata) for Kerala
Coordinator for IN related Issues like new features and products with Ericsson

Position: Manager - International Roaming
I was responsible for planning the roaming promotions / activities, implementing roaming VAS products across 23 circles and analyzing key trends. This involved interacting with solution providers to choose the relevant product, get it technically checked and finally implemented.
Key Achievements:
Won an award for Key Strategic Tie-ups with International Operators
Awarded certificate for Managing Roaming MIS as an added responsibility
Increased the Preferred roaming percentage to an all time high figure
Consistently over-achieved the revenue targets.

Position: Business Analyst (EA to the Group CMO): This role involved working with the CMO to help him in analysing business issues and keeping track of KPIs, competitor activities and key issues/trends impacting the telecom sector. Developing and maintaining relationships with company management, industry associations etc was a key task.
