Responsibilites:
• Coordinating set up of new Gynaecological and Testicular cancer research trials at the hospital.
• Site Co-ordination - Ensuring sufficient supplies of trial-related material at the site and liaising with monitors. Reviewing monitoring reports, rectifying oversight in data recording and addressing the observations made by monitors. Completing and submitting serious adverse event reports within the required timeframe with guidance and endorsement from clinical staff.
• Patient Recruitment: involves identifying patients that may be suitable for research projects along with the clinical staff, ensuring that patients are fully informed prior to entry into the research study, and registering and randomising patients to the trial upon receiving consent.
• Data Management- Reviewing patients medical notes and transcribing 'on-treatment' and 'follow-up' source data on to paper and e-CRF. Resolving data queries.
• Maintaing spreadsheets for each trial to monitor patient progress.
• Producing monthly progress charts on recruitment and providing an update at monthly multi-disciplinary cancer research network meetings.
• Maintaining paper and electronic TMF
• Responsible for translational research components of the trials - collecting tumour samples from various hospitals, processing patient samples e.g. centrifuging blood samples and aspirating plasma, handling and storing biological samples appropriately, maintaining a log and a fridge/freezer map indicating the sample location and co-ordinating their shipment when required.
• Performing phlebotomy when required
• To aid the process of receiving payments for clinical trials costs to the trust.
• Ensuring that the conduct of the study is compliant with the Trusts and the sponsor SOPs, ICH-GCP and UK authority standards.
