• Provide strategic and technical advice to ensure site teams are kept abreast of duties and developing trends and assist them to innovate and improve their overall safety performance.
• Conduct and monitor periodic audits to ensure that standards and legal requirements are consistent with the national standards requirements using analysis methodologies and raise non-¬compliance issues during board meetings to various stakeholders.
• Take appropriate and robust action for any failings and non-compliance with Company Standards and expectations.
• Pro-actively promote the development and implementation of strategy and plans to improve HSE performance in the business.
• Monitor and review Safety performance against set standards and targets, report findings to the Regional Stakeholders and the management teams and implement action plans to ensure standards are met or surpassed.
• Take appropriate and robust action for any failings and non-compliance with Company Standards and expectations.
• Coach, challenge and support staff to achieve the necessary level of competence and capability to identify and manage HSE risks, and achieve continuous improvement in performance and support operational staff to take HSE accountability.
• Assist in developing, rolling out and monitoring compliance with the Divisional 9001/14001/18001 Management Systems to demonstrate compliance with the corporate systems.
• Lead technical areas of HSE to identify and integrate best industry practice to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure the HSE Management system is aligned with the organisation scope of work and activities through the application & communication of the HSE system model to promote predictability & consistency in managing health, safety, and environmental performance / obligations / compliance.
• Responsible for administrating, monitoring, assessing and reviewing the Health and Safety training requirements to ensure competency levels are achieved.
• Ensure the competency of site teams in the identification and control of hazards & risks on location by actively engaging, influencing and persuade all operational and support functions to deliver an integrated, pragmatic approach to safety.
• Participate in accident/investigation to determine Root Cause, identify key lessons, and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Ensuring company HSE policies and procedures are implemented consistently and effectively, and compliance adhered to by all employees.
• Lead the implementation of an ongoing positive health and safety culture, ensuring that each department is aware of their accountabilities, responsibilities and objectives within the Health and Safety Management System.
• Monitor and report progress of non-conformance, corrective action and preventive action raised to contractors management teams.
• Carry out safety reviews of contractor operations across construction sites; identified areas for development and positive initiatives to share that led to noteworthy improvements in construction safety management across the project.
• Conduct usual Safety Advisor duties such as Audits, inspections, risk assessments and investigations.
