Senior Procurement Engineer at Zamil Projects

I joined al-Zamil Projects in order to lead the procurement process in the central
region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I have been part of the procurement
process for Riyadh Metro Project (1A1, 2C1, 2C2, 1F4, 1F5, 1F7, 1F8, 3E2)
(Totaling 800 Million SAR), Aflaj Hospital, Zamil Tower, Master Gas Phase 2,
PP14, and 3 Substation Projects (Sajir, Dilem, and Dawmat al-Jandal). More
recently, my job portfolio includes the procuring of all mechanical items for Shamia
Expansion Project (worth 700 Million SAR) and Four Seasons Hotel (worth 450 Million SAR). My duties include the following:
* Expediting Material Submittals and ensuring that proposed vendors meet our
budgetary requirements.
* Preparing and reviewing Comparison sheets and relevant PO supporting documents
as per Zamil Standard Policy.
* Review and negotiate offers from vendors from a techno-commercial standpoint.
* Preparing Purchase Orders after material submittal approval.
* Maintain Material Acceptance Status requirements and ensure all concerned stake
holders (Engineering, Suppliers, and Contracts Department) are involved and are
performing in order to achieve key target dates such as material approval and
variation order requirements.
* Review Procurement Logs/Reports and ensure key dates for deliverables are met
and ensure that suppliers are meeting their deadlines as well.
* Prepare Contracts (Supply Agreements, Sub-Contract Agreements) for items of
worth of more than 100, 000.00 SAR and ensure that vendors meet Zamil’s
contractual requirements and supervise the same for Riyadh based Buyers.
* Ensure that the procurement loop is closed and all vendors/sub-contractors
payments are processed without delay.
* Improve current Procurement Practices in the company by improving supply and
sub-contract agreements and propose/implement improvements to the current
procurement policy.
* Evaluating potential vendors and sub-contractors from pre-bidding stage till project
award stage ensuring that we receive the best value for money in terms of price and
quality.
* Creation of Requirement Based Scoring tools for buyers for quotation evaluation.

Senior Procurement Mechanical Engineer at Al-Arrab Contracting Company

I was the lead mechanical procurement engineer for over 11 sites scattered across the kingdom (Qassim, Jouf, Arar) and dealing with multiple disciplines in mechanical contracting such as HVAC, Water Treatment, Firefighting, Medical Gas, Medical Equipment, Petrol Stations, LPG. My main responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:
• Preparation of Monthly reports of forecasted material submittals to be submitted and to ensure I meet the required dates as required by the project schedule.
• Coordination with the suppliers in order to prepare pre-qualification and technical submittals in order to meet the client requirements in a reasonable timeframe.
• Preparation of detailed quotation comparison sheets including all the technical and commercial criteria required in order to generate an optimized comparison.
• Coordination with Technical Department in order to provide the approved materials in order for the materials to be incorporated in the shop drawings and in order to ensure that the materials proposed meet the project’s technical requirements.

• Preparation of inquiry packages that include drawings, specifications, and all necessary documents in order to make the supplier’s job easier and in turn generate an accurate and quick quotation.

• Finalizing prices with potential suppliers, taking into account the best possible prices, delivery terms, and payment terms and ensuring all three are optimized as much as possible in order to generate the best value.

After the completion of PNUW in 12/9/2012, I was placed in the estimation department for pricing and quantifying various projects, which included the Um Al-Malh Airport, Ministry of Education Headquarters Project, and Najd Schools.

Was also responsible for the design, preparation, and submittal of shop drawings for the Ministry of Education Headquarters project for the external portion of the project (burried chilled water layout, storm drain layout, sewage layout, firefighting layout, and potable water layout)

Site Engineer/ QC engineer at Saudi Technical Support

• Worked in Saudi Technical Support (STS) since 24/7/2010, where I was appointed at first as a site engineer and then as a quality control engineer in 30/10/2010 in the School of Nursing & Physiotherapy in the renowned Princess Noura University for Women Project, where MEP works were prevalent (HVAC, firefighting systems, plumbing systems, medical gas systems). Duties included the following:
o Design and submittal of shop drawings for the client’s approval
o Verifying site installation is as per specification
o Handing over system components to the client balancing client requirements with site conditions
o Quantity surveying
o Tendering for Bill of Quantities (for all mechanical disciplines)
• Was promoted to Commissioning Engineer in 15/11/2011 in STS to be the key person in the handing over of system components to the client. I was responsible for the Testing & Commissioning of the following:
o Submersible and Circulation Pumps,
o Hot Water Storage Tanks,
o Medical Air Compressor Units,
o Medical Vacuum Units,
o Oxygen Manifold Systems,
o Alarm Units for Medical Systems
o Firefighting System (Sprinkler, Fire Hose Cabinet, and Landing Valve Lines)
• Was also responsible for the documentation work for the Operation and Maintenance manuals for the project in the Mechanical Trade, which included the following:
o Spare Part Listings & Descriptions
o Maintenance Schedules for aforementioned equipment
