Work closely with Chief Design Director to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy and facilitate its
advancement in respective offices and across the firm
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
Lead interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents
Play an integral role in the development and management of the project schedule
Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents
Lead the conceptual and design development process Preparing shop drawings for the complete project.
Working knowledge of contract interiors FF+E
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
Provide 3D renders of proposed interiors.
Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and
fabricators to meet overall project objectives
To oversee the design execution, conduct market research and facilitate design review and build planning meetings.
•Review contractor performance for conformance to contract and authorize invoices for payment.
•To manage workflow, oversee the completion of activities.
•To conduct site inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes
•To approve design specifications and develop purchase justifications for materials where necessary.
•To prepare accurate estimates for projects and obtaining and evaluating subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work.
•To review plans, proposals and solicitations and coordinate with field personnel.
Coordinate project estimates, and related budget approvals and envelops communication plans for each project.
•To analyze as-built construction drawings and specifications; investigates on-site conditions to determine any structural, mechanical, or electrical limitations.
•To set project schedule and actively manage the team to remain on schedule.
•3D Visual presentation & Material Detailing. Designing using factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishing and equipment, color schemes, Color coordination.
•To determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment and furniture to be installed.
•To meet with the department representatives to assist them in defining scope and initiating projects.
Sketch preliminary design plans, including electrical layouts
Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures.
Prepare final plans, using computer applications. Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs. Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements.
3D Visual presentation & Material Detailing.
Subcontract fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items.
Prepare presentation boards
Supervise student projects and the academic elements of field trips, and, where appropriate, placements
Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and contribute to the planning, design and development of objectives and material.
Select appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.
Ensure that module design and delivery comply with quality standards and regulations of the University.
Conducted individual research or work on collaborative research projects.
Under supervision, may make updates and changes to existing drawings or designs
Under supervision, develops preliminary space plans and corrects drawings red lined by others
Assist and learn detailing, production of furniture & finish packages, along with cost estimating
Assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design and in field surveying of client spaces
Supports the team in collecting information for client assessment; may attend interviews, provide documentation support; developing skills working with Affinity program tool
Visit after the project to ensure that the client is satisfied
To support the Interior Designer Director in all client projects from research and concept stage, through to the detailed design stage to completion in accordance with the clients brief and within the timescales and budget given.
To do the technical drawings and coordinate with the relevant person/department
To assist the Designers to produce design boards to required standard, including 2D in Auto CAD where applicable
To gather and prepare information for estimates & to send supplier purchase orders and chase to ensure goods received
