Major responsibilities:
I have been working in a completely self-sufficient Engineering and design facility. I was responsible for
Marine Compliance, Structural, Naval Architecture, Architecture and Safety, from Basic design to Production
level detailing for yard construction. Utilizing the latest computer aided design software, along with finite
element analysis modeling capabilities, can address the most onerous problems encountered in rig
refurbishment and upgrade from concept design to certified stress calculations. Respond quickly and
efficiently to both client and third party certification requirements. Planning, Yard Coordination, Class
Interface to ensure the planning of the construction is as per timeline without any major design issues.
Coordinating with designer whenever there is any critical design changes proposed by Yard due to clashes or
unavoidable issues, client requirements or tender/contract requisites of the oil companies.
Some highlights of my responsibilities in Lamprell are as follows,
• Set & achieve KPIs. Schedule and strictly monitor progress, efficiency and productivity targets.
• Develop and standardize procedures and pro-active methods to improve the productivity, efficiency
and effectiveness of value added engineering services and projects.
• Ensuring jobs undertaken by the Department are accomplished in a professional manner in line with
required Quality, Budget & Occupational Health & Safety Environment systems, OHSAS 18001:2007.
• Planning and Control of consumable budget and Capex requirements and ensure optimum, intelligent
and effective use of resources, equipment and manpower. Conduct risk assessments, as applicable.
• Liaising with Client representatives to ensure their project requirements are fully met.
• Mentor the team, provide on the job training to the subordinates and conduct performance evaluation
and succession planning within the Department.
• Focal point in Engineering for the Basic Designer Cameron /Letourneau on Super 116E Jack ups
• Responsible for Marine Compliance, including ABS, DnV-GL, LRS, NKK and other IACS members
• Team Leader of Naval Architecture, Architecture and Safety in Design aspects for the past 18 years
• Leading the Detailed Design of twenty one Super 116E Jack ups for Clients including National
Drilling Company (NDC), Scorpion Offshore, Eurasian Drilling Company (EuDC), Jindal Pipes Ltd,
Dev Drilling, Greatship Global Energy Services, Ensco International and Shelf Drilling.
• Involved in 13, 191.98 tonne offshore platform for Nexen Petroleum UK. This project is the PUQ deck
for the Golden Eagle Development (GEAD) in the North Sea. The dimensions of the PUQ deck
measure 98.5m by 46m by 58.8m and a total fleet of 512 axels on self-propelled modular trailers
(SPMTs) were used to perform the load-out which set a Guinness World Record for the heaviest load
moved by self-propelled modular trailers (SPMTs) through its delivery.

• In-Charge of Dead Weight Survey and Incline Experiment of Jack-ups - both new builds and
refurbishment projects. I have conducted thirty Inclining experiments on behalf of Lamprell.
• Review of Subcontractor design including Safety studies - HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, FMECA

QGPC Tug. Design of 30t Articulated A-Frame for Arab Heavy Industries, Ajman.
• Structural design of ships and other structures in marine environment. Structural modification of
barges for the local loading and design of various towing padeyes and associated stiffening.
• Preparation of preliminary General Arrangement and specification for the different projects during the
bid stage. Detailed design, drawings and calculations upon the award of the project.
• Member of a Multidisciplined Project Team for the design and specification of a Cable Laying Vessel
for Etisalat, Dubai.

constructing all kinds of offshore structures for the oil industry. Indian Navy, Coast Guard and Port Trust
Authority are the major Clients of Mazagon Dock Limited. One of the oldest ships afloat today, the
‘FOUDROYANT’ (ex-Trincomalee) was built in Mazagon Dock between 1814 and 1817.
Major responsibilities in Mazagon Dock include,
• Work in the Forward Design Group, responsible for the basic design and cost estimation for tendering,
preparation of lines plan, hydrostatics and mid-ship section design for naval vessels, ships and barges.
Setting up of Preliminary specification and basic design package for tendering.
• Complete ship design through application of Naval Architecture Design Calculations, General
arrangement drawings, detailed structural and working drawings for different types of vessels
constructed in the yard including strength, intact and damage stability calculations of ships.

• Ship Construction - Constant interaction with all the activities in the production yard. Involved in the
preparation of all structural drawings, modification and alterations, trouble shooting at site, liaison with
the Class, Surveyors, conducting Inclining experiments and sea-trials for various vessels.
