Project engineer at the #1 compressor manufacturer in Europe. Responsible for the development of a new 46 kW R410A scroll compressor. This compressor will serve the high temperature commercial comfort market (heat pumps). The development of this new product includes supervision in the design (engineering calculations), lab testing, troubleshooting and certifications. Tasks also include management of a small lab workforce of technicians. Make sure they are always busy and that ongoing tests are successful.
Management/commissioning of new district heating networks based on biomass wood boilers. The job included planning, budget analysis, tendering processes, supplier negotiation, sizing and commissioning. Budgets ranged from 2 MCHF to 8 MCHF. As part of the job, a lot of field work was carried on, mainly managing teams of welders and workers building the heating distribution systems, coordinate turnkey solutions, attend meetings and mainly make sure the project respects high efficiency standards.
Elaboration of my master thesis “(Solar) heat pump integration into urban energy systems”. The project consisted in modelling of different energy conversion technologies and their respective economic and energy/exergy efficiencies when applied on a specific yearly heat demand profile compiled by a GIS database. (http://etd.dtu.dk/thesis/314413/). Parallel to this, there was already some involvement in project management tasks for the project related to my thesis.
LNEG is one of the few laboratories in Europe that issues the Solar Keymark certification. My internship’s goals were to get more deeply acquainted to solar panel technology/testing and to spend my summer doing something interesting. This internship was non-paid.
Assistant to project managers in the design of district heating networks.
Assistant to the chief maintenance engineer.
Sustainable energy program with focus on thermal systems such as solar energy, power plants, refrigeration cycles and general thermal processes. Modelling, integration and sustainability analysis of multi-energy based scenarios 100% renewable energy scenarios) based on the Danish 2020 zero carbon society. Insight into renewable energy policy and the barriers to its implementation.
General diploma in mechanical engineering basics focused on thermal energy, HVAC studies, ASHRAE standards in calculations.
