Classroom:

 1. Participates in curriculum development and instructional advancement in the field of Nursing.

 2. Assesses the instructional needs of students in the program and help coordinate the development of a plan to address these needs.

 3. Teaches courses assigned; determined by need of expertise.

 4. Participates in the annual curriculum evaluations of the program, assessment of institutional effectiveness and preparation reports.

 5. Maintains overload hours if required.

 6. Ensures that the educational activities are congruent with the Institution’s mission,  goals, values, priorities and resources.

 7. Provides an environment appropriate for learning and -facilitate student-patient learning process by developing, planning, and representing educational activities and directly or indirectly fostering the development of competence of nursing students.

 8. Identifies changes that should be made in nursing practice using an evidences-based       approach and facilitating the initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.

 9. Integrates ethical principles into all aspects of nursing practice.

 10. Collaborates with members of multi-disciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care delivery.

 11. Performs of a variety of educational options as academic, education, experiential learning consultation, teaching others, professional reading, distance learning, and self-directed activities.


Clinical:

 1. Orients students in the clinical setting/ community.

2. Handles pre & post conferences with students.

3. Assigns students to patient/ family/ community care.

4. Teaches appropriate nursing procedures in the particular settings assigned.

5. Models to student interpersonal relationship with members of the health team.

6. Demonstrates difficult nursing procedures/laboratory diagnostic tests.

7. Conducts bedside conference.

8. Accompanies students at home visit / survey activities.

9. Teaches use of machines for diagnosis, i.e. ECG and others.

10. Establishes routine activities for student learning in assigned area.

 11. Arranges student activities with the staff nurses.

12. Conducts lectures in related topics in hospital or community.

13. Supervises students’ case presentations.

14. Checks students NCP and other requirements.

15. Constructs test questions based from students clinical/ community experience.

16. Assigns reading for clinical/ community discussion.

17. Organizes community assemblies with students.

18. Invites appropriate speakers for clinical or medical topics.

19. Evaluates the students’ performance.

20. Relates classroom lecture to clinical / community exposure.

21. Computes grade in RLE.

22. Reports to the Level Coordinator/ Dean relevant happenings in the area.

23. Accomplishes instructional design for assigned area.

24. Coordinates with other Level instructors’ student achievement.

25. Suggests to Level Coordinator relevant RLE areas / activities for improved student learning.
