I utilize all of my 20+ years of experience in the different fields of pharmacy (procurement, distribution, expansion in the market, contacting factories develop our own formulas with our own private label, pharmaceutical marketing, scientific research, clinical pharmacy, pmp, connections with different vendors and physicians, health and wellness, working with Accreditation Canada to gain the Canadian Accreditation for our clinics) in this job. As Head Pharmacy Kuwait Hospital (KH),
role encompasses the leadership and management of outpatient
pharmacy operations, the pharmacy store, inpatient pharmacy, and a
team of clinical, inpatient and outpatient pharmacists, in addition to
overseeing services

-Overseeing all pharmacy operations (inpatient & outpatient
pharmacies, including the store) within the hospital, ensuring efficient
and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services.

-Managing a team of pharmacists (outpatient, inpatient and clinical
pharmacists) and support staff, including hiring, training, and
performance evaluations.

-Developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures in
accordance with regulatory requirements.
-Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to
optimize patient drug therapy outcomes.

-Monitoring drug utilization and ensuring medications are stored,
dispensed, and administered safely.
-Managing the pharmacy budget and inventory, including purchasing
medications and supplies.
-Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring
compliance with accreditation standards.

-Keeping abreast of new developments in pharmacy practice and
providing guidance on drug therapy decisions.

-Serving as a resource for patients, healthcare providers, and hospital
staff on medication-related issues.

-Providing leadership and guidance to the pharmacy team to achieve
departmental goals and objectives.

-In a short period of time, I implemented the concept of clinical
pharmacy in the hospital.
-Developed a clinical pharmacist/medication reconciliation form that
was adapted by the hospital and added to patients profiles.
-Collaborated with the insurance, finance and other departments of the
hospital to understand the root cause of issues raised within the
pharmacy department.
-Nurse educational sessions on certain medications.

My scientific research was based on the incretin (GLP-1 & GIP) receptors
and their respective hormones, focusing on T2DM and obesity.
-Performed a broad range of laboratory techniques including tissue
culture, molecular biology techniques, transfection, DNA manipulation
and purification.
-Prepared competent bacterial cells, site directed mutagenesis, ELISA,
reporter-gene assays, Bret assays, IP-One ELISA assays, among many
others.

-Analyzing all data obtained using GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Excel.
-Trained technicians, Masters and PHD students.

-Key Research and publications

-Prepared purchase orders for group of pharmacies.
-Liaised with key company employees to determine their product and
service needs.

-Negotiated deals to ensure timely product replacement.
-Developed and implemented strategies and procedures for procuring,
storing, distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
-Instituted policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key
metrics to our overall expenses while increasing productivity.

-Worked in several pharmacies that belonged to the company, which
had a total of 17 pharmacies in Kuwait. I started off as a pharmacy
manager, making sure all the required supplies are available from their
respective agents, negotiating deals and specifying the return/expired
items policy with agents.
-Made sure that the pharmacy provided all what customers may need
and made specific orders for certain clients when the availability of the
product(s) was not feasible because of low demand.

-Updated all the logbooks daily, following the Ministrys regulations.
-Checked the appropriateness of the prescription before dispensing,
asked about other medical conditions and medications, counseled the
patients about the proper use and storage of their medications,
provided some non-pharm tips to better their overall condition and
gave them the pharmacys phone number in case they had any
concerns.
-Assisted patients in solving minor health issues.
-Fostered a collaborated environment that improved productivity and
team morale to achieve better sales results.
-Devised marketing strategies to increase sales.
-Empathized on the importance of building rapport with our customers
to gain their trust.
-In charge of all central skin-care products orders, negotiating deals and
terms of return while facilitating the presence of salesperson/s working
on the skin-care line/s, in each pharmacy, during busy shifts.
