LEGAL INTERN \nAssistant to the Partner \nAl Tamimi & Company (1st tier Firm for IP, Dispute Resolution and Real Estate) \nDubai International Financial Centre \nDubai, UAE \n \nI am a legal trainee for a month at Al Tamimi & Company under the direct supervision of the Partner and Department Head of Intellectual Property, Mr. Omar Obeidat, the leading individual in United Arab Emirates in the field of IP law according to Legal 500. \n \nJune 2, 2013 - June 30, 2013 \n \nDuties and Responsibilities: \n \n• Assisting the partner in document preparation and case management \n• Drafting legal notice \n• Reviewing of previous cases \n• Legal research \n• Understanding setting up a business in DIFC and other free zones \n• Studying of UAE Trademark laws, UAE Commercial Agency and Transaction Laws, and International Treaties. \n• Understanding Common Customs Law of GCC Countries \n• Understanding property theories \n• Reviewing contracts \n• Understanding trademark, patent and copyright registration in Middle East and United States of America \n• Preparing proposals \n• Preparing correspondences \n• Drafting of advice \n• Market research \n• Helping the support team
•Responsible for achieving sales targets or quotas, thereby contributing to the growth of the CREDIT CARDS segment of the retail banking segment by proactively planning, prioritizing and implementing sales activities;
•Doing mostly field work.
•Acting as the primary customer-facing touch point for client calls;
•Adhering to all Legal and Compliance guidelines in line with client handling;
•Managing operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control;
