Major Responsibilities
• Consistently deliver unparalleled and unprecedented levels of convenience to the customer in terms of reach,
delivery, service quality, flexibility and reliability
• Engage with Business Partners (BP) with formalised, periodic & effective discussions and operate as a single value
chain
• Establish Service Levels (SLA) across units under Card Operations
• Ensure all key issues discussed with Business Partners at the monthly department meetings of service pillars are
effectively deployed
• Ensure that the right mix of products and services are available to meet the needs of the target customer, the value
for money, differentiate products, beyond banking
• Support the implementation of new products by business segmentation and formulation of plans as per agreed
timelines
• Enhance bank’s image in the areas of stability, reliability and employer brand
• Enhance Nations Trust brand and improve relationship with regular and important external agencies
• Improve operational efficiency and productivity by eliminating red tape, maintaining flexibility, benchmarking
process efficiencies, sales management processes, monitoring service standards, automation and business
intelligence
• Ensure established productivity and cost efficiency guidelines are adhered to. Monitor and improve the per
transaction costs
• Support and implement lean management recommendations across all relevant operational processes in banking
operations
• Ensure that losses due to fraud and errors are 1% lower than the previous year.
• Ensure that all audit ratings across all units of Card Operations ‘meets expectations’ or are better.
• Update risk matrices to understand the operational risk profiles of all service pillars of banking operations.
• Ensure established verifications of transactions are effectively and diligently carried out at applicable units in
Banking Operations, to mitigate fraud risk.
• Review operating processes and productivity levels considering the process improvements from the lean
management projects.
• Review manning levels prior to recruiting replacements and minimizing staff turnover
• Achieve compliance with all regulatory and legal bodies, and internal policies.
• Obtain satisfactory ratings in all regulatory audits - CBSL and External Auditors - with no repeat comments. Ensure
appropriate coordination with Compliance Division.
• Ensure financial targets of the support business units are met by achieving budgeted volumes and revenue targets
and ensure all processing units of Banking Operations deliver on time and efficiently with minimal errors and delays.
• Contain costs by reviewing cost structure and working towards C:I ratio as per budget. Review structures and
processes subsequent to automation (RPA and other) initiatives, to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Manage headcount within budget by redeploying staff.
• Ensure proper communication to staff at all levels regarding the bank’s strategy and direction.
• Ensure adequate buy-in of staff for bank objectives. Conduct regular feedback sessions at all operational levels and
implement morale building mechanisms
• Work with internal stakeholders on Power BI implementation
• Responsible for Card Management System TYSYS Version 4 upgrade project
