- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as sales, management, accounting and HR.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, ans training records.
- Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Subordinates — Providing guidance and direction to subordinates,
including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Negotiate contracts and prices for transportation, distribution, or logistics services.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment.
- Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- Manage operations, research, or logistics projects.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
- Create policies or procedures for logistics activities.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues & complaints.
- Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of Logistics functions.
- Head team to develop, articulate and maintain logistic process documentation.
- Lead training, hiring, career development and enrichment of all department associates.
- Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security.
- Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with overseas countries’ regulations and fiscal regimes.
- Liaising with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirements.
- Arranging appropriate packing, taking account of climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods and cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
- Negotiating contracts, transportation and handling costs.
- Arranging insurance and assisting the client in the event of a claim.
- Arranging payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the client.
- Quotations to clients & freight forwarders.
- Issuing Bill of lading
- Demurrage supervision.
- Updating all logistics systems regarding cargo volume, status, departure and delivery dates.
- Performing all documentation and preparing invoices for activities related to handled clients & freight forwarders.
- Receiving manifest from agents / freight forwarders & processing the data through system, manifest submission to Jordanian customs, updating about arrival then releasing the delivery order.
