My role at Abyat is (1) the management of corporate projects and (2) Design and tracking of the balanced scorecards with the objectives & KPIs for the company, departments and all employees.
(1) Project Management
Ensure the success of around 10 strategic projects annually. Examples of these projects are: SAP Enhancements for Demand Planning & Inventory Management, Feasibility study for Distribution Center, Succession Planning for the critical Roles, Work Breakdown Structure for opening a new store in KSA, Organization Design & Grading Scheme, Optimizing Production Processes to decrease manpower and wastage, Integration of Sales and production modules for Kitchens and Doors & Windows, Structure and SOPs for the business department
(2) Balanced Scorecards
• Designed and implemented Abyat’s Balanced Scorecard & Strategy Map. We defined KPIs at 2 levels key results areas / bottom lines defined mainly at corporate level and drivers of performance that are defined on the employee level and used for his/her appraisal. For any major variance an initiative is planned and managed as a project based on its size.
• Aligned the HR Employee appraisal with the KPIs and performance in Projects delivery for all job roles
• Prepare presentations and reports for the Quarterly Board Meetings
I worked on implementing Dynamics, CRM, SharePoint and Performance Point. My responsibilities start with understanding the customer’s business requirements, preparing the business case, pre-sales presentations, planning and implementation. The main projects I worked at:
Prime Minister’s Office Portal and Employee Balanced Scorecard and Performance Appraisal system. Portal for Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Portal for Masdar, Dubai Airports Company CRM, Manazel CRM, Arkan EPM, Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council Document Management & Tracking System, CRM & Content Management systems for Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, Portal for Adu Dhabi Foods and Drug Authority
• Guide a team of system analysts, developers and DBAs to deliver billing and monitoring applications for the Telecom industry using the Prince2 methodology.
• Manage relationship with vendors to ensure high quality and timely delivery of services and systems including hardware and switches.
• Prepare the IT Strategy Plans for customers to ensure readiness of resources and applications to map anticipated growth.
• Prepare change and risk management plan for our group as well as our customers to ensure successful implementation of ERP systems.
• Managed the implementation and delivery of “Sudan Social Security System”; a distributed and web-enabled software built to automate the work of the social security centers using Oracle and managed using the PMP methodology.
• Served as a change management principal consultant with the objective of achieving high adoption rates of the new system among the social security staff members in Sudan.
• Design the replication environment and the data migration procedures from existing legacy systems.
• Design the backend of electronic catalogs for complicated electrical products (Philips, GE, ..) using SQL Server or MySQL and Java.
• Optimize the database design to ensure fast response rates of the system.
• Work intensively on the design of the taxonomy of the products and their related documentation according to European predefined standards.
• Deliver B2B portals to customers that integrate to the product catalogs.
• Application developer for Library Management software using C++. Of the interesting modules I developed is a one using the Z39.50 protocol to send text queries to the Library of Congress and parse the USmarc formatted results.
• Meet with customers and collect requirements, analyze and translate them into systems specifications using UML.
