I was the Grower for Hydroponics crops( Lettuce. kale, herbs are primary, Tomato, cucumber, and Bell pepper.
I joined as NFT Grower then later promoted to Trough Grower and Operation Manger.
I performed all work from sowing to delivery (sowing, shifting, crop management, pollination, fertilizer supply, harvesting, packing); other than crop, operation work (electric and mechanical work supervised ), worker training, plant protection and hi-gene measure adopted
• Annual production planning specially tomato, lettuce and bell pepper their fertilizer requirements, and growing strategies
• Report writing and crop registration.
• Supervision of planting and making plan for annual production
• Irrigation strategies with respect to time, volume and environment
• Climate control
• Carry out daily function of operational work
• Instruct the supervisor and workers regarding plant health and IPM program.
• Fertilizer making and manage the EC, pH values according to crop stage
• Performing spray applications
• Ensure and perform proper cleanliness and hygienic measures
• Hand on experience on each crop from sowing to harvesting, packing.
• Work as a farm manager in local company (grow flower marigold, gladiolus and rose, vegetables tomato, cucumber, chilies, carrot, peas, turnip, field crop: wheat, beans fodder: alfalfa in open field)
• Assist in the development of the growing strategies
• Manage the implementation of the growing strategies and adjust as required to meet targets
• Manage daily work requirements of the growing team
• Evaluate crop registration
• Develop and manage the routine maintenance schedule
• Manage fertiliser safely and efficiently
• Maximise truss setting through correct pollination management
• Growing of vegetables (cucumber, tomato, bell pepper )
• Growing of Petunia in greenhouse during fall season
• Growing of gladiolus and tube rose for cut flower production.
• Participate in tomato varietal characterization research and development projects as required
my work was on hydroponic tomato production in high tech hydroponic system research title was: Varietal characterization of some hydroponically grown tomatoes.
in bachelor i study all agriculture subject but major was horticulture specially hydroponic / protected horticulture my internship was on tomato production technology.
