Reporting to MD & CEO, the job primarily involves liquidity and investments, budgeting, Trend Analysis and Forecasting, preparing feasibility studies/loan proposals incl. ratio & sensitivity analysis, for Banks & Financial Institutions (FIs) and dealing with them till approval/disbursement. Other responsibilities include conducting Credit Audit (audit of Receivables),
Major Achievements include the following:
1. Authored an Internal Credit Policy and ensured its implementation which resulted in improvement in quality of receivables, helping in turn, better cash flows..
2. Created an effective internal audit team, by recruiting suitable persons, enabling the company to achieve various quality and OHSAS certifications, and in turn, saving more than SR 8 million.
3. Prepared Investment proposals on company’s Expansion & Modernization plans and presented to the Banks & Financial Institutions, with 100% success rate.
4. Authored a document on “Effects of: KSA Budget 2017, KSA’s National Transformation Plan 2020 & KSA’s Vision 2030 on economy and paper industry” and “VAT - Opportunities & Challenges” for the company.
5. Reviewed a study on “Waste Recycling - Potential Contribution to KSA’s Vision 2030” prepared by an international consultant, which (the study) was specifically made for taking up paper industry’s issues with Govt.
Responsible for sourcing project finance proposals, due diligence, full credit assessment/appraisal confirming technical feasibility & economic viability of the project, risk management, approval, post approval legal process, limit application/utilization, claim processing & disbursement, cost audit, repayments, excess/deviation approval/authorization, booking of corresponding income, management of “problem” loans, release of securities, MIS and all the corresponding actions required during the life cycle of loans. Major Achievements included following:
1. Acted as Team Leader, supervising a team of Credit Consultants/Analysts, and reported to the Division Manager. Responsibilities included managing a credit portfolio of SAR 3 Billion, presenting weekly/monthly loan proposals/reviews to the Loan Committee/Management Committee/Board, pre-screen loan proposals for their suitability or otherwise, before registering them as applications, and reviewing various submissions for approvals.
2. Independently appraised, prepared and presented/recommended 50 Project Evaluation Reports for an aggregate loan amount (incl. working capital) of SAR 2.5 Billion, (with zero rejection rate), to the Management/Board. Evaluation included detailed analysis of past & forecast financial statements, verification of various costs & prices in coordination with technical & marketing teams, sensitivity analysis and risk management. Managed, supervised & enhanced quality & number of projects, with fullest satisfaction to all the stakeholders.
3. Increased credit utilization from 50% to 95% within the original draw down period of the loan. Simultaneously, also ensured 100% repayment of loan installments & follow up fees by their respective due dates.
4. Independently reviewed Cost Audit Reports of Cost Claims and arranged clearances of difficult exceptions in shortest possible time, for disbursements, thus helping the customer utilize the loan to the maximum/fullest level. Recommended reduction in commitments, wherever necessary, to enable due closure of disbursement file.
5. Proactively updated the management on a few problem cases in time, by recommending suitable actions like rollover/rescheduling/restructuring/funding or legal action, to avoid defaults &/or to ensure continuity of projects.
6. Was assigned to prepare various Industrial Studies on different sectors in the Kingdom.
7. Effectively supervised, trained and mentored several trainees and enabled them to appraise & present credit proposals/reports and to process other credit related submissions independently & in team.
Responsibilities included heading a team of relationship managers, credit analysts & credit administrators for managing the asset (loans) portfolio of USD 50 Million. As Head of Asset Processing Unit, I led a team of credit professionals to ensure seamless flow of credit for all of the approved loans of the Bank. Major Achievements included the following:
Increased the turnover by the CAGR of 10% during the period. Offered tailor-made fund & non-fund based credit products on working capital, trade finance & term finance in a proactive manner.
Cross-sold various wealth management products to the clients, and contributed to the bottom line & market share of the Bank.
Effectively utilized credit & business skills to structure & appraise single credit proposal up to USD 5 Mio in line with internal & regulatory policies. Controlled flow of credit & managed repayments to avoid liquidity mismatch.
Initiated timely actions including legal ones, in problem loans, to safeguard Bank’s interests.
Reviewed credit audit reports and took corrective & preventive steps on identified gaps, in a timely manner.
As Head of Centralized Asset Processing Unit, ensured flawless transaction processing of more than 500, 000 transactions per month, within stiff timelines.
Successfully migrated the manual credit process to Nucleus, the then advanced Credit Management software to ensure real time and transparent end-to-end processing which also helped in meeting customer expectations.
Pioneered amongst Banks in e-filing of banker's lien in respect of agreed securities of borrowers with statutory bodies and avoided any chances of misappropriation while acquiring the status of “secured creditor” instantly.
Responsibilities included marketing retail asset products. Headed a team of managers & credit administrators for looking after the retail asset & mortgages portfolio of USD 800 Million. Major Achievements included the following:
Efficiently administered various retail loans on an “end-to-end” basis through a systematic process, within agreed Turn-Around-Time. Process included due diligence, standard credit risk checks, interviews & inventory at point of sale.
As a team, added new business@15.5% CAGR with aggressive marketing strategies & recruitment.
Member of the winning team in securing Disbursement of USD 50 million & USD 15 million within a month at National level for Inventory Funding and Two wheeler loans respectively.
Conceived & implemented the concept of “Lobby Manager” & “Quick Kill Desk” to bring down the Turn-Around-Time for customer queries & complaints.
Introduced SIEBEL 6.0, the then most advanced Customer Relationship Management software for tracking customer service requests and helped bring down complaints within 2% limit, with resolution rate of 48 hrs.
Acted as facilitator for 5S project on workplace environment.
Responsibilities included heading a team of managers, asst. managers & officers for managing corporate/multi-national relationships worth USD 500 million, primarily to sell Cash Management Products to the clients and servicing their cash management, trade finance and account services needs. Was selected by the bank on a project to work at Bank’s offices in Singapore, Hong Kong & Thailand for product development in the areas of cash management & trade finance.

On successfully passing both the stages in limited no. of attempts, the candidate is awarded the degree of CAIIB - Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance and the same is equivalent of CAIB of London.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Systems) - a senior level course for company executives. Course contains study of Financial Management, Production Planning, Business Management, Accounting and Operations Research as major subjects.
