major learned lesson in this experience is continuous improvement, there is always way to do it better.

Working with MySQL Database Server with the following skills:
- Build main structure for data, such as schedules and indices in liaison with development staff.

- Amend and upgrade the database according to programmer’s requirements

- Monitor performance of the database and solve its problems

- Provide technical support for all parties dealing with the database each in their own specialization

- Determine the database structures dealing with applications and Discuss the resources required with the database manager, such as storage, RAM, CPU and etc.

- Write inquiries and issue reports manually

- Plan and execute database copy and recovery process

-Determine the required resources for storage media and memory size; recommend upgrading or modifying it according to performance

major learned lesson in this experience is e-commerce and it's critical DB transactions and contribute in start ups.

N2v was new and special experience mainly e-commerce concepts; as team we worked on http://vanillaeshop.com/, as local e-commerce based in KSA, it is really promised market, with well structure using mysql innodb engine to maintain ACID transactions.

main role is operational DBA which include tune mysql server performance, monitor the logs like slow log query and general log, provide how to make "with mysql" for team members, make plans for scalability and availability like setup replication (master-master, master-slaves), sharding data( divide and conquer)
build the structure of database to fit the requirements of the projects
database fireman for hot issues in mysql servers, maintain back-ups and import data, enhance the database Security to support the data confidentiality and privacy

major learned lesson in this experience is MySQL restructuring, tuning, transfer, mysql replication.

From the first day that maktoob became yahoo we work in following major projects
1) build hot-cold master master replication of all database to switch to yahoo data centers
2) maintain database tuning enhancing performance after moving process is finished
3) restructure and rebuild some database to be align with yahoo standards

in addition to my roles and responsibilities as DBA in the following major areas

1) database full recovery, include DB backups and archiving, maintain DB Capacity for VB forums
maktoob had 14 forums but all of them are shutdown by yahoo as strategic decision

2) design and build database for new Maktoob channels like
news.maktoob.com which is now https://maktoob.news.yahoo.com/ where main role is to make mapping of news feeds from new resource to our local DB

3) contribute in process of yahoo acquisition of Maktoob.com, we were work as IT team to make plan for moving DB from the hosting company to yahoo data centers
