I have come to know Mr. Mahmoud Abdalla since early 1990s when he joined the Department of Economics as Teaching Assistant. The University of Khartoum is a highly competitive environment for academics and only outstanding students are appointed to join the staff. Mahmoud was an outstanding student and has been appointed on merit. During my stay at the University of Khartoum I have been involved with Mahmoud in many work activities besides teaching and came to realize his competence, dedication, sincerity and patience. Mahmoud was also a preferred point of contact for students who had issues of administrative nature because of his understanding and tolerant yet decisive character; qualities that he acquired from his brief employment by the Ministry of Local Government in Sudan. I recommend Mahmoud strongly for any administrative teaching or training job especially in higher education or research institutes.
