managing a team of investment promotion officers to develop and implement Sector/country marketing plans, and to deliver annual FDI targets through the implementation of proactive investment promotion strategies and plans in target markets; promotional missions, one-on-one presentations, sectoral seminars. Handling potential foreign investments starting from targeting and inquiry till successful project delivery. Designing and managing proactive aftercare programs aimed at encouraging investment expansions. Finally building strategic partnerships with different FDI stakeholders in Egypt especially embassies, commercial offices, businessmen associations
Strategic Planning:
• Spearheading GAFI’s strategic initiatives such as development and management of industrial and service sector development projects.
• Supervise the development of GAFI proactive investment promotion/marketing strategy based on market intelligence of industry trends, competitor benchmarking, where goals and objectives, priority sectors, target countries and companies, monitoring and evaluation system, as well as the appropriate institutional structure in cooperation with leading consultancy firms such as Mckinsey, IBM and Microsoft.
• Monitoring and evaluating the strategy implementation process
• Designing and managing all technical assistance and consultancy projects related to capacity building, investment development strategies.
• design and implementation of proactive aftercare program
Capacity Building:
• Continuous assessment of organizational needs such as structure, staff allocation, training, etc. and recommendations on short and long term actions.
• Design and management of various capacity building and institutional transformation programs with leading international organizations and consultancy firms such as World Bank/MIGA, EU, and UNCTAD.
Other Tasks:
• Fostering a productive public-private dialogue through the management and structure of GAFI’s strategic partnerships program with government institutions, business and sector associations, international development organizations and donors, and FDI stakeholders locally and internationally.
• Providing technical advice to vice chairman on various areas involved in investment promotion, strategic partnership, and work environment
• Coordinating the implementation of cross-functional tasks
• Participating in the design and execution of promotional missions
