Read plates and tubes, as required, to determinethe
number of organisms in the sample. Record findings
on worksheet for verification.
Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
Collect plates and place them in the incubator forthe specified amount of time and
temperature.
Manage the Microbiology Laboratory ensuring that the equipment is functional
(calibrated and well maintained) and suitable for analytical testing
Manage workload and resources to ensure timely release of product. Manage the
sampling and analysis of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, routine
monitoring samples and others.
Ensure that Reference Standards as well as Standard Solutions are suitable and
maintained.
Maintain and control the inventory of test material and consumables, including toxic
reagents, ensuring that the budget is respected
Assist QC Section Head in planning and prioritizing resources allocation to meet test
requirements. Responsible for training staff and overseeing and reviewing
documentation
Lead microbiological analysis of food samples, environmental monitoring, water
analysis, reviving of pathogenic microorganisms and different microbiological studies
Revise/update/draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing the
departmental activities
Responsible for interdepartmental interactions to ensure customer service needs are
satisfied and priorities understood
Generate trend reports as they relate to quality testing
Ensure sample submission for external testing
Perform visual inspection of samples, as needed
Interact with internal departments, including Production, Facilities, Quality
Assurance, Validation, Calibration, Materials, and Logistics as needed
Ensure that an adequate supply of inventory levels is maintained
Ensure that all documentation is neat and orderly and maintain all necessary
documentation
Conduct special studies as required and maintain inventory control
Identify and implement issues and opportunities for improvements driven by
continuous improvement inclination
Supervise the collection and evaluation of incident report and change control data
and ensures the necessary corrective actions are identified and implemented.
Reviews and evaluates monthly and annual reports.
Sterilize materials needed for analysis.
Autoclave plates before discarding.
Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis.
Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process.
Perform necessary housekeeping duties in a timelymanner, keeping the work areas
and equipment clean and sanitized.
Participate in cleaning schedule and maintainretain samples as required.
Adhere to all safety policies
Perform other related tasks as needed. Responsibility to support laboratory
management in the implementation maintenance, and improvement of the
management system.
Performs assays in the general micro lab that include mostly non-pathogen
organisms.
Conduct laboratory testing for biological parameters.
Collect samples of Potable water, Swimming Pool, Cooling water, Ground water,
Irrigation water andindustrial wastewater, to conduct tests on pollutant levels and
identify sources of pollution.
Performs analyses based on EPA Methods, Standard Methods for the Examination
of Waterand Wastewater
Oversee the field analysis of pH.Tempreture. totalresidual chlorine and free chlorine,

Wet Chemistry Techniques (Gravimetric Analysis, Titrimetric Analysis and
Spectrophotometer Techniques (UV-Vis, FTIR etc.)Phosphorus, Sulfate, Ammonia,
TKN, DO, BOD, Sulfide, TSS, Chlorine, TDS, Chloride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phenols, COD.).
Prepare technical reports including charts, tables, and graphs.
Prepare samples for testing.
Carrying out all microbiological testing on foodand water.
Preparing media to the required standards on aday to day basis, helping efficient
and effective running of the laboratory.
Responsible for the safe and hygienic disposal ofall waste materials.
Reporting all faults, problems and out of specification incidents to the senior
laboratory technician .
Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries
Maintain media and reagents as needed for dailymicrobiological testing.
Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing
requirementsProvide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing,
and trash disposal.
Perform quality control monitoring by takingincubator temperatures, inoculating
control organisms, running media controls, etc.
Maintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance
programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures.
Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
Responsible for the completion of requiredtraining.

TECHNICALSKILLS
* Knowledge of laboratory materials, equipment, Procedures and techniques.
* Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical lab instruments including
GCMS, ICP, TOC and spectrophotometers.
* Knowledge of the techniques required for general laboratory safety and
proper Handlingof hazardous materials.
* Advanced experience with all wet chemistrytechniques: pipetting, titrations,
extractions and separation.
