It gives me pleasure to write in support of Mahmoud Kandil. I have known Mahmoud for four years; I instructed him five different courses, as an assistant lecturer and later a lecturer in the Chemical Engineering Department: Chemical Engineering Fundamentals, Separation processes, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Engineering Metallurgy and Chemical Process Control. Also, I supervised his graduation project in the water treatment field. During this time I witnessed his tremendous growth and development. This development came not only in the area of study achievement and leadership, but in maturity and character as well. Mahmoud quickly learned to manage his time, work in group situations under strict deadlines, and to recognize the importance of a strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity.He was an active and conscientious member of the class with a lively curiosity that makes him dissatisfied with superficial explanations. During his courses he showed himself as being active in thinking and original in viewpoint During his graduation project he proved himself as an independent researcher with a creative scientific mentality who works hardly and accurately. Mahmoud can work independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done. He is flexible and willing to work on any project that is assigned to him. On the personal scale, Mahmoud is diligent and intelligent; he is keen to learn new things, works well with people, is courteous, and dependable. He has excellent communication skills. In addition, he is extremely organized, reliable and computer literate. He was quick to volunteer to assist in any extra projects, as well.
