Protection Planning Engineer
National Electric Power Company
Total years of experience :17 years, 1 Months
Working in operational studies department from Dec/2012 as an engineer of protective system studies until now in the following fields:
1. Use CAPE, ETAP software to conduct short circuit calculations,
unidirectional and directional overcurrent and earth fault relays setting and coordination, and distance relay calculations and settings.
2. Fault Analysis.
3. Use PSS\E and DIgSILENT software to conduct load flow, short circuit analysis and dynamic studies.
Working in operation department from Jan/2009 as an engineer in national control center:
● Use SCADA system (Ranger and Network Manager Release 3.9) to monitor, control and deal with all operations, generation, frequency in case of single area, tie lines and faults on the national electrical grid (132, 400 kV).
● Control the voltage on different levels (33, 132 and 400 kV).
● Preparing Switching operations, Fault reports and Daily load forecast.
● Either ensures applying safety during switching operations or trouble shooting.
load management
performing studies to develop 33 and 11 kV networks.
NEPCO Training Center, Substations Maintenance and Protection Department, National Monitoring and Control Center.
Duties: I received training on power-system-monitoring using SCADA system, load planning and forecasting, maintenance of transformers and circuit breakers as well as testing of protection relays.
Thesis Title: (Speed Control of Induction Motor Drived by Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) Inverter Controlled by Fuzzy Controller)
Undergraduate Projects: Primary thesis project title: (Design and Implementation of a Compact Integrated Wind-Photovoltaic Energy System) In this project we built a control system for the generation of electrical energy using power electronic devices and microcontrollers. Secondary thesis project title: (Design and Simulation of an Impulse Generator) In this project we design an impulse generator and simulate our design using MatLab software package and study the effect of the impulse wave on different type of electrical insulations.
