Responsible for all Henderson shipyard upgrade projects and procurement of equipment. In addition, I managed the shipyard facilities overhead budget of over $8m yearly, run the maintenance department of 15 personnel, and set out the asset management plan across the Henderson Business Unit.

Projects completed were in excess of AUD $35m including:

• New Dry Berths and Turntable extension: This project was to increase the ship repair capabilities. I overcame a particular difficulty of encountering unexpected very hard rock during excavation by getting a revised design to the foundation that required less excavation; and I managed to keep the project on time and budget.
• New Heavy Lift Wharf (Capable of 1, 600 tons capacity): I increased the width, strength and provided a much enhanced bollards capacity for the same capital budget that was initially approved for a smaller 450 tons capacity wharf.
• Dredging to -6.0m CD: Key achievement was obtaining the development approval from numerous external stakeholders including: Fremantle Ports, Environmental Protection Agency, LandCorp, Local Council, and Joint Assessment Panel for projects over AUD $7m.
• New Office Building: A modern 2 story office building with a capacity for 110 Staff.
• New Wet Berth Mooring Piles and Fenders: Designed and constructed for use by our Oil & Gas Client’s barges in a record time of 6 weeks. I established a strong partnership with our contractor to overcome all obstacles and get this project completed on time and budget.

Equipment procured includes: 275 ton Crawler Crane (Sumitomo), 85 ton Rough Terrain mobile crane (Tadano), 450 ton Crawler Crane (Kobelco), Forklifts, manlifts, warehouse trucks, Steel fabrication and welding equipment, etc
