Execution of strategic directions from (article creation, forecasting, buying, merchandizing plans, and launching). Forecast for all new articles in addition to communicating forecast revisions to supply chain team for existing articles where pricing or merchandizing changes. Align category budget targets with supply chain forecasts and make necessary adjustments where required. Planning and executing liquidation plans for discontinued lines, ageing lines, overstock lines. Planning of trading margins and ensuring price positioning is maintained. Ensuring of floor commercial availability including taking action to remove out of stock items and replacing them accordingly. Sourcing of new products across our partner networks. Follow & analyze market trends, daily marketing review of core competition to ensure competitiveness in assortment and pricing. Attend international trade fairs and exhibitions to select products and monitor market trends. Main point of contact with vendors for negotiating of prices for new items. Execution of campaigns and new launches including coordination with marketing and acquisition teams. Training of sales team on product knowledge and new arrivals. Regular planogram updates with merchandising team to cover efective display principles and ensure sell out of phase out / display inventory. Clarifies responsibilities of the buyers/assistant buyers and brief them about day today tasks. Weekly store visits and comp shop in the local market and do the benchmark. Online category development and promo strategy development to ensure competitiveness with market & grow online business. Maintain product descriptions/features/details and photographs for ecommerce platform.
Prepare seasonal range & buying plans based on business plan /forecast for the for soft accessories ( bed linens, duvets, pillows), bath accessories(towels & accessories) and dining accessories ( kitchenware's & table tops) . Working closely with the product designer on the in house product developments by implementing new designs on the products that will be exclusive in the market. Weekly /daily analysis of the latest trends in the market amongst competitors both at outlet stores and online platforms. Attend weekly trade meetings and do the action plans as required by the management . Analyze every aspects of best sellers and ensure that the best sellers reaches its full potential. Monitor slow sellers and action for mark down the prices, set promotions or relocate the stocks as required in the stores. Work closely with the store teams and warehouse teams to ensure that the stocks are replenished and displayed as required by the business. Attend international trade fairs and exhibitions to select products and monitor market trends. Liaising and negotiating with the suppliers (on prices, payment term and shipping terms) and to ensure that they meet the product requirements as per the business standards. Review stocks and place orders as required. Arranging the payments to the suppliers. Clarifies responsibilities of the assistant buyers and brief them about day today tasks. Receives, examines and processes requisitions and other necessary documents related to the purchase of supplies, materials and equipment; and places orders with appropriate bidder(s). making and enhancing the Policies and Procedures, Process Flows required for the Purchase Department. Ensure accurate and timely completion of work; ensure the eficient daily operation of the team. Analyze the costing at diferent stages of Procurement process mapping. Assist Purchase Manager with Market research for cost efective vendors. Control and update work order logs, follow up with clients and related departments to ensure the work order is completed. Confers with and assists oficials of other business units/subsidiaries to determine purchasing needs and specifications. Review and process purchasing requests/purchasing order. Prepare required reports to produce analytical and technical summary in an appropriate format. Research supply sources, vendors and cost efective alternatives. Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material requirements. Manage delivery, pricing, quality, inventory levels and the purchasing activities. Act as a liaison between vendors and the company for order status, procurement procedures and problem resolution.
Updates purchase plan (stock & sales) on daily basis. Co-ordinates with the buying team in the monthly ordering sessions for placing new orders (mainly for brown goods & small home appliances). Processing confirmed orders (foreign & local orders) as approved by the suppliers and product management team. Processing T/T & LC payments based on the order confirmations sent by the suppliers. Coordinate with freight forwarder to arrange shipment pick up.(by sea/ air/ courier services). Following up with suppliers on the shipment status of all orders. Monitoring the goods in transit after the goods have been shipped as advised by the shipper. Arranging shipping documents from the supplier for customs clearance. Arranging delivery schedule to the warehouses once the shipment is being cleared by customs. Process the inbound & shipment costs (in SAP) for every shipments. Co-ordinate with supply chain for stock updates. Prepare the pricing sheet for the new products in the business. Follow up with the suppliers for any claims or other issues.
