A multinational, Dubai-based Joint Venture with global operations spanning 45 countries; providing
end to end Visa application and delivery services, and a management group that offers value-added
travelling services to applicants through its worldwide network and channels.
Spearheaded financial aspects and transformation of the group (comprising of 65 entities) and
turned around business performance within a year through diving deep into the financial portfolio
and transformed the group’s financial position, culture, productivity, and efficiency while embarking on an effective change management leadership.
Selected achievements:
• Assessed and evaluated the financial performance of the Group regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts and provided insight and recommendations towards growth plans.
• Identified and acquired/implemented systems and software to provide critical financial and
operational information. Evaluated departments/made suggestions for automating processes.
• Served as a key member of executive committee team and round table discussion panel,
participated in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.
• Reviewed and ensured application of appropriate internal controls, Compliance and Financial
Procedures by enhancing Corporate Governance/Delegation of Authority.
• Reduced cost (Fixed & Variable) and developed an ambitious budget FY2017 - closed at +12%;
produced Quarterly Forecast rollout (A, B, C) to ensure Budget plans are successfully executed.
• Identified and negotiated partnerships with Strategic partners in challenging markets (Indonesia, Algeria) as well as in another 7 countries in West Africa.
• Led the evaluation and negotiation of Business contracts in the Deals Validation Committee.
• Produced monthly Consolidated Financial Statements and quarterly BOD presentation Deck.
• Developed and implemented the full set of Financial & Operations policies, guidelines, and
procedures; standardized the operational and financial activities across all geographies.
• Handled successfully the Local/Statutory audits, and the Consolidation at the Headquarters.
• Developed Compliance, Delegation of Authority & Tax Policies.
• Stemmed the tide of foreign currency (FC) transactions in critical countries by establishing online payment mechanisms to mitigate the currency fluctuation risks.
• Created a system of controls over 72 E-Wallets required to execute online Visa processing
payments in 30 countries, mitigating the risks of revenue leakage and coordinated with the Banks
in developing a verification mechanism to facilitate the validation of online withdrawals.
• Managed the cash flow planning process and reduced the Gearing ratio by 35% in Y1 and fully
settled all loans in Y2.
• Maintained outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors/Investors.
• Oversaw the Global Finance & Accounting employees’ productivity, building a highly inclusive
culture, built their Personal and Professional Goals; ensured team members thrive for excellence
and organizational requirements are met.
