I’ve taken the responsibility of the maintenance department while it was in its worst operational situation. High absenteeism, low safety culture, complains flowing from everywhere, messy workshop and no organizational chart.
These days, the department is at its best in all levels of operation, safety and customer service. My method of work was:
• Set the organization chart and allocate responsibilities.
• Filled up the gaps amongst the team by insourcing from the already existing crew.
• Created a premium reporting and communication strategy.
• Enhanced a positive safety culture.
• Worked on the customer satisfaction to push it to the limits.
• Improved the credit control department.
Results,
• Zero accidents so far.
• More maintenance contracts were brought in with an excellent feedback.
• Most of the credit money and dead debts was collected.
• Costs were reduced by 30% by rearranging resources and utilizing possibilities of cost cutting.
