Nature of Work. The Consultant shall serve as a program Manager for the Center’s International Department. The Consultant shall work with Arab Civitas Country program directors to ensure institutional and financial sustainability of civic education programs. The Consultant shall be a member of the Center’s Arab Civitas Team. He/she will coordinate with the Director of International Programs is Calabasas, California, the Senior Program Manager for Arab Civitas in Washington D.C. and other staff at the Center’s U.S. offices and the regional support unit in Jordan. The consultant will also work directly with the country directors, Arab leaders, and U.S. government representatives to ensure stakeholder buy-in, review and implement annual plans, and regularly monitor and report on project results. The Consultant shall report to Jay taylor, Senior program manager, International programs.
Scope of Work: the consultant key responsibilities include:
• Advising Arab Civitas country program directors on grant compliance and program management, including development of annual plans and program monitoring
• Assisting country program directors on developing and updating plans for long-term institutional and financial sustainability
• Working with country program directors to develop and maintain working relationships with host-government representatives, with counterparts in host-country offices of U;S; funding agencies, including the U.S. Department of state, USAID, and with partners in the private sectors.
• Developing knowledge of civic education programs and policymaking environment in Arab Civitas countries
• Conduct technical assistance visits to Arab Civitas country program sites
• Communicating regularly via email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings with Center counterparts in Washington D.C. and Calabasas to support program implementation
• Undertaking other projects, as assigned, consistent with the above responsibilities.
• Administrative:
o Supervise and coordinate activities between board and employees
o Direct the Society and manage its budget to achieve financial self-sustainability
o Develops, reviews, updates and implement strategic planning including marketing, financial performance, membership
o Work plan to ensure society progress within a set timeframe.
o Promote the Institute so that it is recognized as the professional representative body for management consultants and trainers in Jordan and the Region.
o Direct the staff of the Society and outsourced input to provide the best possible value-added services to members.
o Ensure the Society establishes, promotes and maintains correct professional standards for management consultancy and training.
o Ensure the Society operates according to its By-Laws and within the policies set by the Board.
o Ensure the Institute fulfils all its obligations for public accountability and complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
o Invite board members to executive board meetings at President’s request
o Devise the annual work plan, based on strategies and projects discussed in executive board meetings
o Ensure the implementation of work plan through follow up with employees and project coordinators
o Compile and present periodic progress reports
o Report regularly to the Board on the Society’s activities and its financial operation.
o Manage the activities of staff and sub-contractors to ensure they follow the processes they own and achieve their operational targets
o Carry out appraisals of staff to identify training and development needs and put in place necessary training programmes.
o Assess the performance of staff and set the levels of bonus according to the performance related reward system.
o Promote the Society by working effectively with local and international entities and organizing suitable events.

• Train managers from the local business community (mainly employees of SME’s) on the concepts and practicalities of E-Business and E-Commerce;
• Introduce the procedural requirements and methodology for implementing E-Business and E-Commerce;
• The overall objective behind this project is to introduce and increase the awareness of the business community to the concepts of E-Business and E-Commerce by acting as consultants to the Jordanian Business Community
• The training demonstrates five modules presentations covering: E-Commerce Overview, E-Strategy, E-Planning, E-Implementation and E-Organizational Impact.
• The adaptation of E-Commerce technology is characterized by a wide range of services and operations, including: establishing of initial contacts; suppliers search and negotiation; exchange of information; sales, pre-sales and post -sales support; electronic payment; distribution logistics; establishment and coordination of virtual enterprises; shared business process; legal and confidentiality issues; taxation matters; Industrial Property Rights; Identification and authentication

• Address the E-Commerce awareness dissemination and business qualifications activities into the Jordanian business community;
• To carry out activities in the field of E-commerce and E-Business to introduce information technologies to the business community, to create the understanding of the E-Commerce, to enable them to build a new strategies suited to the type of goods and services they want to provide, to be aware of the impact of E-Commerce on the market strategies and business value framework, and to understand what preparation is required for their performance;
• To set up an education path driving to the formation of skilled mangers as well as preparation of staff to fill strategic gaps in the availability of professionals able in dealing with the E-Commerce issues, management and solutions;
• To implement the existing technologies into the business sector to improve their competitiveness in global market, by showing best practices and ongoing experiences. Motivate and support them to create a practical model within the business sector and to provide technical and consulting services;
• Communication, Benchmark and Promotion: Support an open forum for dialogue, and stimulate the transfer of technology related to E-Commerce issues and practices, benchmarking the best practicing on the national, regional and International levels, especially unique European approach.

• Organizing important information related to past, present and potential customers.

Personal Selling : I use six steps to the personal selling process :Research, Objectives, Ask open questions, Explain the Benefits, Meet bjections, Close the Sale.
Through the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights ( EIDHR) This project “ Violence Against Children in The Arab World” translates into concrete action the objectives and priorities commonly agreed by Mediterranean partners. They focus on education, training, awareness raising, action in favour of good governance and democracy as well as protection of vulnerable groups, not least, children.
I was responsible for planning, executing the objectives of this conference: to raise awareness of children’s rights and propose actions based on a clear, commonly agreed, strategy to fight violence and;
To highlight the devastating effect of violence on children and society at large.
I was also responsible for managing the implementation of all day-to-day projects: The participating countries were seven Arab countries: Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. Members of the delegations submitted 32 working papers. There were specialists in: media, law, medicine, literature, art, education, psychology, social and health guidance, religion and others. . Five Workshops took place and a publication of conference proceedings in a book was published.

Terms of Reference :
I was responsible for planning and managing the implementation of all day-to-day project activities:
1-Reviewing and developing the project work plan, and all other project related documents.
2- Ensuring project activities are implemented in accordance with approved time lines and procedures to ensure the objectives of the project are achieved within the provided time-frame.
3- Drafting all project-related terms of reference, and carrying out the necessary selection and recruitment procedures.
4- Supervising the performance of locally and internationally recruited project staff.
5- Monitoring and evaluating the progress of all project activities and expenditures on an ongoing basis.
6-Fulfilling the reporting requirements of the project to all relevant parties.
7- Coordinating between the international consultants and other organizations in order to carry out the various surveys and studies required for the identification of the training programs and employment sectors in the country.

9-Formulating, in cooperation with the technical program task force and the program and curriculum advisory committees, employment and internship programs for students.
