Lead the daily financial operations, financial projects and provide support to the Regional Financial Controller (Middle East & Africa). Lead the team by coaching, developing and career planning the people to achieve a fully integrated partner relationship with the business. Develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals to facilitate effective working relationships with the business functions
• Lead the budget and rolling forecast preparation process for a region with annual revenues in excess of USD60million, annual cash inflows in excess of USD70million and a staff complement of 100 plus,
• Provide strong financial reporting and analysis in forecasting, budgeting and reviewing operational performance.
• Support managers with the identification and prioritisation of key training and development needs. Support the ongoing development of professional capability within the finance team and the financial understanding of non-finance managers
• Proactively build and maintain influential and collaborative relationships with the key business stakeholders as a partner in the business focused on effective decision support on medium to long term projects, margins, cost base and the KPIs of the business
• Acting as an internal financial and business consultant, providing insight and challenge to enable business customers to deliver their strategic plans and objectives in line with the corporate goals
• Work with the business teams in the development of local business strategies and plans, identifying financial and business priorities arising from organisational objectives and proactively identifying opportunities
• Encourage and assist managers to analyse and improve financial performance and capability through the interpretation of business KPIs, management data, internal and external benchmarking information and external best practice
• Pricing analysis and support, including models for pricing, list discounts and the cost of Working Capital
• Driving and coordinating the process for Budgeting, Forecasting and Actual Reporting
• Development of controlling standards and methods
• Monitoring of the cost centre budgets and liaison with budget holders on spend analysis and cost reductions
• Work with the Shared Service Center (SSC) on Management Reporting (Financial Reports, KPI Reports etc.)
• Understanding, monitoring and assisting operational services projects delivery,
• Instrumental in the monthly process, leading the revenue recognition process, as well the margin generation with a tight control on costs,
• Ensuring that internal reporting requirements are met, i.e. monthly scorecards (including thorough understanding of variances to budget, forecast and last year), forecasting on a quarterly basis and annual budgets for Services line of Business,
• Assumes responsibility for the balance sheet position for services, ensure monthly reconciliation s are performed accurately by SSC and conclude the action items,
• Managing services DSO’s & monitoring cash collection in the region with good understanding of when cash is due to be collected and getting buy-in to the process from the operational areas that are close to the clients,
• Work closely with SSC in order to ensure the monthly closing is performed accurately and timely,
• Produce detailed ad-hoc reporting and work with the SSC to establish standardized reporting
• Improve visibility and importance of finance within the region, ensuring buy-in from all other operational areas, in particular Client Services to deliver the requirements for the region (e.g. Client Services to improve timesheet and expense processing, invoice approval and chasing, follow up of cash collection).
Preparation of monthly management reports,
• Assist and contribute to setting of budgets and updating forecasts,
• Analysing management reports, investigate, resolve and report on variances,
• Preparation of monthly management dashboards showing KPIs,
• Facilitate monthly close procedures,
• Review and processing of month end journals,
• Prepare monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations,
• Perform intercompany balance confirmation and reconciliations,
• Cash flow management,
• Maintain banking relationship,
• Facilitate SOX, internal and external audits,
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls,
• Resolve issues on payments, receipts and other transactions with customers, suppliers and banks
• Credit control
Financial reporting, management reporting, budgets and forecasts, planning and analysis. IFRS and GAAP.
Development and implementation of credit control policy, supervision of staff and management of cash and debtors.
• Conducting business and audit risk assessment through client meetings, research and analysis and cumulative audit knowledge.
• Identifying key risks within the business processes, evaluating internal controls, identifying control deficiencies and preparation of final audit reports detailing recommendations to the management.
• Effective planning and co-ordination of projects to meet deadlines, including the supervision, training and motivation of team members.
• Liaising with, and developing good working relationships with the client to deliver engagement expectations and co-ordination with professionals in various fields like legal, actuarial and IT experts.
• Ensuring compliance with the requirements of International Standards on Auditing and PCAOB standards and other SEC requirements for audit engagements.
• Conducting business and audit risk assessment through client meetings, research and analysis and cumulative audit knowledge.
• Identifying key risks within the business processes, evaluating internal controls, identifying control deficiencies and preparation of final audit reports detailing recommendations to the management.
