1. Electrical :
After assembly I was one of two onboard maintenance electricians responsible for daily work orders and troubleshooting all electrical problems pertaining to the tunnel boring machine as the Al Hayer Tunnel was being bored.
Assisted the Electrical Technicians with testing and modifying TBM functions on HMIs and PLCs.
Pulling and terminating cable from 3/750MCM to 22AWG, terminating PLC system for control cabin and full machine assembly.
I’ve worked with voltages from 11, 000 to 12v DC and was directly involved with the complete assembly and wiring of the entire Tunnel Boring Machine.
11, 000 - volt main power supply from FLP stepped down to 480 at transformer banks and MDB’s ( Main Distribution Bank)
Installing VFD’s PLC’s, Motors, Panel Boards, Emergency Lighting, proximity and pressure sensors.
This machine utilized a ABB PLC system with over 2500 I/O.
Work with various PLC technologies and develop and update existing code for the equipment’s.
