Providing executive leadership to the IT function, offering IT solutions and services to 20+ companies in construction, real estate, manufacturing, trading, travel and retail. Reporting to the Group Chairman and accountable for overseeing, managing, and coordinating all aspects of technology related areas, implementing and maintaining best practices and standards in the IT infrastructure, software development, project management, value delivery, IT Support, Information security and service level management. Managing annual budget of 7 million USD and leading a team of 50+ IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy and Planning
Interacting with business heads of 20+ companies to understand their business strategy and aligning IT strategy to business unit’s objectives and strategies.
Evaluating external technological environment and internal business environment to develop technology blueprint to support current and future business models including infrastructure planning, resource planning and outsourcing direction.
Optimizing IT costs to deliver optimum return on IT investments
IT Governance and Process Excellence
Achieving operational excellence by developing flexible IT organization, improving IT efficiency, effective resource utilization and improving IT capability maturity.
Establishing IT performance management frameworks like balanced scorecards for improved transparency and accountability of IT function towards business goals
Improving delivery predictability by establishing best practices in IT processes like COBIT, ITIL, Prince 2, ISO 27001 and ValIT.
IT Investment Portfolio Management
Managing IT investment portfolio to ensure that IT projects meet their objectives in terms of timelines, cost and business results.
Setting up of PMO, establishing project management frameworks and ensuring business case validity across project lifecycle to ensure maximum business value from IT investments
Program management of IT projects and driving organizational change jointly with business heads by implementing change management programs.
IT Operations Management
Leading team of 50+ IT professionals, establishing key performance indicators and setting career plans for developing multi-skilled IT team
Performing capacity planning of infrastructure, applications and resources to ensure availability and service continuity of all infrastructure components.
Rolling out enterprise/ line of business applications following SDLC approach.
Establishing partnerships with strategic service providers.
Managing licensing/ annual maintenance agreements of enterprise applications and critical infrastructure.
Service Level Management
Establishing and managing service level contracts with 20+ business units and continually improving service levels.
Establishing centralized IT service desk by implementing ITIL processes.
Implementing service based IT cost chargeback for business units to improve the transparency of IT costs.
Establishing IT academy for effective user training for improve acceptability of IT applications.
IT Security
Overseeing IT risk assessment and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
Implementing Information security management system
