Acting as the organization’s expert for Occupational Health services for all healthcare staff as well as
non-healthcare staff of PHCC, I have had a multifarious role - deciding on the constituents of
Company’s Occupational Health activities (including designing and leading the establishment of
Biological Monitoring and Industrial Hygiene monitoring protocols), programs and related provisions to ascertain an effective occupational health management system; designing and developing
organizational occupational health systems for ensuring protection and promotion of the health and
wellbeing of the workforce and ascertaining ongoing fitness for work.
Introduced suitable Occupational Health programs addressing challenges posed by various
occupational health hazards that the PHCC workforce is exposed to, during the course of their work -
streamlining, enhancing and enriching them as part of continual improvement process.
Identified, evaluated and prioritized the Health Risks in relation to organization’s operations and
activities and championed the Health Risk Management through technically sound methodologies in order to prevent adverse health outcomes and consequent organizational liabilities.
Led the organizational efforts in relation to the challenges posed by COVID pandemic - including
Contact Tracing for healthcare worker-to-healthcare worker transmission, Risk assessment of such
exposures, a variety of proactive and preventative measures, Return-to-work and Fitness-to-work for
health provider and other roles, designed more than one solutions for ascertaining the compliance
with weekly antigen testing of unvaccinated employees accessing workplace.

Worked for this Oil & Gas marketing and distribution company of Qatar. Leading designing and development of Occupational Health systems, processes and procedures for the company - starting from virtually a greenfield state. Strategizing development of occupational health services in a cost optimized manner, targeting high quality and efficiency, adopting innovative solutions and learning from best international practices in the absence of elaborate and specific regulatory OH standards locally. I developed and established all organizational processes and procedures like occupational health medical examinations (pre-employment, pre-placement and periodic medical examinations, Biological monitoring and medical surveillance examinations) and Fitness-to-Work, a comprehensive Heat Stress Management Program, Occupational hygiene and Exposure monitoring program, sickness absence management program, Hearing conservation program. I was responsible for stewarding and updating the organization-wide HRA, interpretation and communication of health risk assessment-based actions and planning across the organizational establishments, maintenance and updation of risk register, and qualitative & quantitative occupational health risk assessments. I developed a unique OH tool to facilitate specific and authentic identification of the required levels of physical capabilities for acceptable and safe performance in different occupational roles alongside communication of reliable information about health-hazard exposures in those occupational roles. Designed and anchored comprehensive workshops on Heat Stress Management in order to ensure relevant awareness dissemination and training of vertical selection of personnel. Carried out inhouse supplementary Occupational Health Risk Assessment for QJet. Carried out a series of high-quality Heat Stress Management workshops ahead of each summer season and comprehensive Ergonomic Enhancement Workshops periodically. Conducted an organization-wide survey for Ergonomic Risk factors followed by recommending corrective and preventative actions.

Worked for this top Oil & Gas Company of United Arab Emirates. Was responsible for auditing the quality of clinical, occupational health and administrative aspects of all pre-employment, periodic, 'end of service', 'service extension' medical examinations conducted for ADNOC and ADNOC group of companies and providing expert advice to ensure consistency and soundness of decision making. Developed an all-inclusive plan for Risk based Health Surveillance of the employees of ADNOC and ADNOC group of companies exposed to occupational health hazards while ensuring compliance with ADNOC codes of practice and other legislative requirements. Recommended modification of Structure, Process and Outcome for OH function in line with Donabedian model. Developed KPIs for the OH function as well as referral criteria and trigger actions on encountering anomalous results for OH investigations. Conducted a comprehensive occupational health risk assessment for Medical Services Division with respect to hazards associated with the operations and activities of itsvarious departments, making specific recommendations for enhancement of protection measures for the staff.

Led the occupational health performance of an enormous Oil & Gas Project of the UAE (UZ750) as their Occupational Health Advisor, wherein I was responsible for attaining the highest standards of performance for occupational health, hygiene, wellness and worker welfare of the project workforce including elements like carrying out OHRAs (Occupational Health Risk Assessments evaluating the risk to various SEGs from different physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial hazards), implementing and overseeing a high quality Heat Stress Management program across all EPC contractors, establishing Industrial Hygiene protocols . Besides providing expert technical advice on all occupational health and medical matters, I developed a standardized inventory for conducting Health & Hygiene inspections of all onshore and offshore project camps and sites, ensuring exquisite compliance with the requirements of ADNOC codes of practice, developed a variety of health information and awareness campaign material, as well as led the facilitation of a unique workshop on 'Heat Stress Management - Lessons Learnt' in 'train the trainers' mode. Developed a comprehensive and holistic 'Health, Wellness and Welfare' Strategy and Action-plan for this project that was formalized by management into a default inclusion for all its contracts as an 'Exhibit' for implementation across all EPC Packages of the UZ750 project. Participated and contributed to a number of workshops and occupational health risk assessments of various phases and parts of theproject.

Worked for this leading multinational petroleum refinery in Saudi Arabia as its Medical Doctor from 03rd March 2013 till 14 July 2014. The work profile included - attending to the medical emergencies arising out of work-related injuries or acute illness at work for company and contractor employees, providing curative care for non-work-related illness to company employees, providing occupational health services, medical advice and support in relation to Fitness to Work, Sickness Absence and earlyReturn-to-Work, Respiratory Protection Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Health Surveillance for Benzene exposed personnel, conducting Pre-employment and Pre-placement Medical Examinations, certifying fitness for Respiratory Protection Equipment use, participating in SHE committee and anchoring the development of organizational systems, arrangements and programs for occupational health protection. The clinical responsibilities include attending to a variety of specific Occupational Medicine Emergencies including poisoning cases like Cyanide Poisoning, cases of gassing accidents like Carbon monoxide poisoning, Hydrogen Sulfide poisoning, accidents with agents like Asphalt, Hydrofluoric acid and diagnosis and management of Chronic Occupational Illnesses like Occupational Asthma, Occupational Dermatitis, Haematological Effects of exposure to Benzene (Leukaemias, Aplastic Anemias), Chronic inorganic poisonings with Lead, Mercury, Noise Induced Hearing Loss etc.

Served 'Dolphin Energy Limited' as their Head of Occupational Health from 30th January 2012 to 31st January 2013. My responsibilities included leading, overseeing and managing all occupational health and medical activities of the company, planning and coordinating the activities and resources for occupational health and medical clinics (including attainment and maintenance of Licensing of Clinics and Personnel by Ministry of Public Health) and ensuring effective implementation of the occupational health programs and other systems like Sickness Absence Management, besides attending to cases of common day to day ailments and chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Dyslipidemias, or injuries from workplace accidents etcetera. In addition, I was responsible for Case Management for work-accidents, and Return-to-work plans, development of Wellness and Health Awareness Programs, Enhancement of Fitness to Work protocols, CSR activities like Blood Donation Campaigns both at DEL Tower Doha and its Operations at Ras Laffan. Additionally, my activities also included enhancement of existing procedures and development of new procedures for occupational health business processes besides various other administrative roles.

Worked for 'Supreme Council of Health' of the State of Qatar as their Specialist Physician

Worked for one of the leading 'Fortune-500' petroleum companies of India -
-Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at their Refinery at Bombay (- the erstwhile Burmah Shell Refinery subsequently nationalized), from 25 May 92 to 22 Sep 2006, as their Occupational Health Physician, titled finally as 'Manager Medical Services'. With around 3000 refinery employees, and a large workforce of contractors and a refining capacity of 12 Million Metric Tons per annum, this Refinery produced Oil and Gas products compliant with Euro III standards. I was in-charge of providing the Occupational Healthcare services, Occupational Hygiene monitoring, Occupational Health surveillance and Emergency Clinical Services for these employees, besides the administration and management of the Occupational Health Centre as well as responsible for taking care of the other constituents and stakes of the corporation. Consequent to this role, I became well conversant with the processes pertaining to the oil & gas industry, the hazards relevant to it as well as the best practices in relation to the HSE performance. The responsibilities included proactive and preventative activities to protect the company employees and the large workforce of contractors from a variety of hazards including exposure to hazards like noise, heat stress, radiation, Benzene Vapor, Carbon monoxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, and preventing/ dealing with incidents of Cyanide Poisoning, Organic Lead (Tetraethyl lead) intoxication, Carbon monoxide poisoning, Hydrogen Sulphide poisoning, and a variety of other medical emergencies from workplace accidents/ exposures while dealing with agents/ processes like Hydrofluoric acid, Asphalt, Radioactive material, Welding, Tank-Cleaning, Confined space work, Work at heights etcetera. I was responsible for establishing and stewarding a Refinery-wide Industrial Hygiene monitoring program as well as an excellence based Ergonomic Enhancement program.
