Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively, efficiently, and safely in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards
Participate in the development of inspection strategies and plans in coordination with concerned organizations.
Develop the Inspection Division’s policies, procedures and instructions in accordance with the best practices.
Attend regular meetings with other concerned Maintenance, Operations, and Process Engineering to ensure that inspection and corrosion control activities are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered on a priority basis.

Manage and review all inspection related tendering and contracting activities on static pressure equipment and ensure compliance to contract conditions and recommend changes to the scope of work.
Participate in the investigation of incidents to ensure the effective implementation of COMPANY’s safety policies and adequate maintenance of static pressure equipment.
Stay abreast with new inspection techniques and technologies and participate in regional conference and exhibitions concerning inspection activities.
Submit regular progress reports on inspection services contracts and highlight any pending issues or problems that need high-level intervention.
Implementation and update the inspection strategies and Risk-Based Inspection Plans in line with COMPANY’s objectives and industry best practices.
Provide technical support to maintenance teams on static pressure equipment inspections, evaluations, repairs and modifications.
Ensure maintaining a database of static pressure equipment history and ensure that all equipment data are updated and well-organized for easy reference.
Review and validate inspection reports submitted by Inspectors.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Quality Control & Compliance Manager.
Development, administration, execution and control of contracts of specialized technical assistance (acoustic emission, evaluation of tubes of heat exchangers according to Corrientes EDDY technique, industrial x-ray services and thermal treatments, on-going evaluation services of process pipelines), Provision of personnel, training of personnel in non-destructive testing techniques.
Supervision of the non-destructive testing laboratory (management of consumables, inventories, selection and purchase of equipment, annual work planning, resource management, among others).
Development, monitoring and control of pipeline evaluation plans in operation under ongoing inspection programs based on ASME B-31.3 and API 570 standards.
Development, execution and control of Plans Preventive Inspection such as Thermographic evaluation in furnaces, Detection of flammable gas leaks, Measurement of flow in Heat Exchangers, Inspection of Shields of radioactive sources)
Development of workshops and presentations to raise the level of understanding of the culture of the reliability programs
Lead Engineer in plant shutdown processes for major maintenance of process units
Development of statistical analysis for decision-making and improvement of asset maintenance policy
Supervision of the static technical department of the Mechanic Workshop of the Paraguaná Refining Center. Management of repair of equipment and issuance of recommendations for rehabilitation of diverse assets.
