• Ensuring effective Common Core planning and assessment is done for the grade.
• Weekly coordinator and grade group meetings to discuss plans for the following week and
due dates.
• Ensuring action plans are in place based on MAP results to create student goals.
• Being a mentor for new teachers to support them to settle in and feel confident with new
content and routines.
• Online teaching and in-class teaching simultaneously.
• Creating digital activities for lessons and pre-recording lessons to post for the group learning
from home for the week.
• Supervise students during their breaks.
Grade 1 homeroom
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Subjects taught: Afrikaans, English, math, and PE.
• Ensuring students get the support they need as most of them did not attend school before
Grade 1.
• Coached netball after school.
• Ensuring students are healthy and eat daily at school that the food scheme provides. No nurse
at the school.
• Supporting the students emotionally with most of them dealing with trauma. No Educational
psychologist at the school.
• Supervise students during their breaks.
