Brief description of the major field: The Master of Management major in Business Management degree program was born in 1998 in response to the rapid growth of industrial and non-agri-based enterprises. The curriculum is aimed at developing success-oriented and socially-responsible managers and entrepreneurs who shall establish and manage non-agri-based enterprises into economically-viable entities. It seeks to continue the role of the Department of Agribusiness Management in the University of the Philippines developing and serving the managerial requirements of the region and the surrounding areas.
Description of the course: The Bachelor of Science in Development Communication in the University of the Philippines aims to train students to apply theories, principles, and techniques of communication to help solve issues and problems of a developing society. They also take technical and social science electives which guide the content and context of communication. The program equips students with values and skills that will make them more adept at facilitating, mediating, and drawing out consensus whether through media or face-to-face interaction. Students are trained to assume leadership roles in communication-related endeavors of government and the private sector.
