• Assisting in circulating during the surgery.

• Assessment of case needs of the patients and the development, implementation & evaluation of case programme.
• Maintain good communication with patients, relatives and explain the case needs of the patients.
• Administration of drugs and maintain records
• Maintaining accurate and complete records of the patients.
• Receiving and transferring patients inside the operation theatre.
• Keep updating all developments in nursing fields.
• Checking inventories of equipments and supplies
• Maintain all equipments and supplies to keep them ready to use
• Sterilization of surgical instruments
• Maintain records and reports
• Participate in lectures.
Circulating Nurse
• 1. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• 2. Ensure completeness of stocks and supplies.
• 3. Ensure good lighting and proper functioning of machines before and during the
• procedure.
Recovery Room Nurse
• 1. Receives the patient from O.T.
• 2. Monitoring vital signs as necessary.
• 3. Reporting any untoward signs to the team.
• 4. Endorses patient back to the ward.
Nurse Assistant during Anaesthesia Induction
• 1. Receives patient from the ward and checking for completeness of records.
• 2. Setting up an IV drip.
• 3. Proper recording of narcotics and medications used in the surgery.
• 4. Ensuring proper functioning of the anaesthesia machine before, during after every
• case.
• 5. Endorsing post op patient to the recovery room nurse.
CSSD Department
• 1. Washing instruments manually or by using a machine.
• 2. Packing instruments and hospital supplies.
• 3. Autoclaving packed instruments and hospital supplies.
