Primary duty is analyzing samples received for detection of Swine Flu virus (H1N1 virus) using Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and reporting its findings. Perform routine clinical laboratory test/analysis of human blood and other body fluids. Receive samples and check patient’s requests prior to testing. Perform phlebotomy as needed. Maintain and calibrate the machines and equipment, contact the manufacturer to obtain assistance in repairing equipment. Order, store, prepare and properly dispose chemicals, enzymes, reagents, gels, buffers, and supply depleted stocks and maintain supply inventory and reorder as needed. Incorporate proper safety precautions at all times (e.g., wearing laboratory coat, gloves, goggles, mask, etc.) when handling and processing viral DNA/RNA samples from blood and other body fluids.
Perform moderate to highly complex and specialized clinical laboratory tests/analysis of human blood, urine and other body fluids, tissues or substance using manual or automated techniques duty includes analyzing, interpreting, confirming, documenting and delivering test results. Operating and maintaining standard lab instrumentation and equipment. Perform blood collection (Phlebotomy).
Prepare and administer diagnostic doses of radioactive iodine and other radiopharmaceuticals to patients prior to scanning procedures and/or treatment.
Assist the nuclear medicine physician in administering radioactive iodine for therapy and in performing stress tests as part of the cardiac imaging. Measures and monitors level of radioactivity of radioactive materials. Provides clearance on the level of activity of patients who have been administered with radioactive materials and radioactive surface contamination utilized for nuclear medicine processes.
Perform multi tasking in various section of the laboratory which include blood banking, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, microbiology, immunology, toxicology, urinalysis and nuclear medicine. And use of the Bizbox Hospital System in the performance of job duties.
