Implementation and Administration of UNIX (AIX & Linux) and VMWare VSphere Infrastructure
UNIX ( AIX / Linux)
• Lead Unix admin team and support AIX (400+ Servers)and RHEL (150+ Servers) on PROD and DR and TEST Datacenters.
• Installation of IBM AIX, Red Hat Linux operating system and configuration of application / operating system pre requisites.
• Provide 24 x 7 UNIX OS Support to Datacenter, Application and Database team.
• Evaluate business project requirements and propose and size the hardware and software resources on AIX Virtualized environment.
• Prepare environments for Finacle and Flexicube core banking implementation.
• Installation of IBM JS and P700 series blade servers and build vios and LPAR based on application requirement
• Install and manage blade chassis, Cisco and QLogic Fiber Blade switches
• Familiar with P770, 750 and 550 and 520 IBM Power hardware.
• Design Power Virtualization, LPAR creation and allocate resources based on workload.
• Troubleshooting on incidents, prepare RCA and implement corrective actions.
• Implementation of HACMP and GPFS Clusters based on application or DB requirements.
• Implementation of site availability with DR and replication plan.
• Manage EMC storage connectivity, installation of powerpath and other SAN Management softwares.
• Resource management and DLPAR activities.
• Performance monitoring and report generation for the management review.
• Server hardening as per security base line using scripts and aixpert tools.
• P-Series server firmware upgrade and HBA Firmware upgrade and conduct preventive maintenance periodically.
• Configuration of sendmail, NFS, SSH, syslog, rsync and NTP services etc..
• OS Migration, TL and SP upgrade on AIX and oslevel fixes.
VMWARE
• Manage VMWARE Infrastructure with 60+ ESXi hosts include 450 Guest OS.
• Installation of VSphere 5.0 and 4.1 and configuration of HA, DRS, FT and EVC modes.
• VMware ESX 4.0, Vcb, Vcli, VM update manager, VSphere 4.1, 5.0 and
• Guided consolidation, capacity planning and P2V migration.
• VCenter and ESX / ESXi Migration and VMFS upgrade.
• Troubleshooting of performace and storage related issues.
• Manage role based access control for other support units.
• Evaluate and implement backup and DR strategy.
· Installation configuration of different security solutions and support for Linux and windows servers for customers.
· Installation and Configuration of firewall & VPN. Using Sonicwall, InstaGate and netilla SSL VPN Appliances.
· Security Products like Strong Authentication system installation with hardware tokens -using CryptoCARD (One time password technology).
· Thin client solution support for Tarantella on Linux Platform. This solution using for publishing applications like windows based and X windows.
· Enterprise Level Antivirus installation and Anti spyware installation.
· Installation and configuration of Network Vulnerability Scanners.
· Installation and configuration of Linux Based mail servers and supports (CommuniGate Pro). Linux OS support and shell scripting.
· Installation and configuration of Enterprise antivirus solutions, and SPAM Filter and Content filtering solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Administration and operations of Windows 2000 Advanced Servers, Linux Servers and IBM Aix servers. Administration of citrix server. Monitering of services on different servers.
• Veritas Netbackup Administration - taking backups through Veritas Net Backup Datacenter. Creating and scheduling backup policies as per backup requirements.
• Maintains of ATL library, HP Autoloader and Drives which mounded on Master server.
• Application Support for FLEXCUBE of Iflex. Uploading of patches on application servers and script execution on oracle database. And taking Hot backup and cold backup of databases. Export and import operations of databases, webpage uploading on bank web servers.
• ATM Monitoring: Monitoring through prognosis and maintains of ATM of bank which were located in different locations. Includes Taking backup of Tandem server, BASE 24 operations transaction checking etc.
• Cluster management of Linux web servers and AIX database servers which were in HA mode. Initiates failover and monitoring heart beat of servers. And Webcache server management.
• Network, server, service and disk-space monitering Through Nagios monitering system.
