I prepare patients for surgery and take care of them after procedure. I look after non-ventilated patient on cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring with chest tube and temporary or permanent pacemacker. I do physical assessment of patients. I plan and perform continuous nursing care. I observe ECG rhythm on cardiac telemetry and analyze it. I take care of surgical wound. I assist doctors during procedures. I train new nurses. I do charge nurse. I keep administrative records and work on a computer.
I took care of adult patients before and after heart and blood vessels operations. I prepared patients for the surgery. I monitored vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation and observed fluid intake and output. I took care of respiratory system to provide inhalation and oxygen. Administered oral medications, give s.c. and i.m. injections. I did cannulation of peripheral veins, administered i.v. injections and infusions via i.v. pumps or syringe pumps. I administered blood and blood products transfusions. I took venous blood for lab analyses. I looked after central and peripheral venous and arterial catheters. I took care of epidural catheters and administered epidural analgesia. I observed thoracic drains and wound drains and changed collecting containers. I re-dressed surgical wounds. I performed urinary bladder catheterization to female patients and assisted doctor with male patients. I took care of patient’s hygiene and performed prevention of pressure ulcers. I planed nursing care. I looked after patients´ physical functions. I supervised serving of suitable food. I provided psychological support to patients. I educated patients and their family members. I trained new nurses. I assisted doctor during diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. I kept clinical and administrative records. I worked on a computer. I did twelve - leads ECG.
