While working United Nations Office for project Services (UNOPS) I
carry out daily tasks of performing routine technical support, among other
functions which include;
• Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities,
and achievements
• Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security
permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and
resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together
seamlessly
• Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root
cause, and provide technical support when needed
• consulting computer users to ascertain needs and to ensure that facilities meet user or
project requirements
• implementing and managing security or integrity and backup procedures
• providing user training, support, advice and feedback
• testing and modifying systems to ensure that that they operate reliably
• designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
• Detects problem patterns and recommends solutions.
• Researches and evaluates new conference products ensuring compatibility with current
operational standards and growth for future needs.
• Checks availability of Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) lines or network
connection, as well as appropriate venue to set up the video-conferencing equipment,
confirming arrangements with all interested parties.
• Liaises with clients on conference technology requirements for meetings and events
held at ESCAP.
• Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools,
applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
• Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in a
global marketplace
• Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful
insights
