Explaining treatment and procedure to enable parents/carers to consent to treatment.
Supporting, advising and educating patient and close relative
observing strict hygiene and safety rules and ensuring that visitors also observe any rules on the ward or unit
Writing reports and updating records before completing the shift.
Identify changes in a child"s sign and symptoms and intervene in emergent situation.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality in nurse and child relationship
Differentiate between abnormal and abnormal physical findings
Serves as child advocate
Participate in activities to manage child"s pain
Analyse situations to anticipate pathological problems and detect the changes in status
Administer medication using age appropriate guideline
Determine child needs related to pain management
Evaluate a child for sign and symptoms of abuse
Provide a supportive care to dying child
