Work consisted of build, strip and test work of prototype diesel engines. These engines are used in generators, fork lifts, tractors and other industrial applications. All type of diesel engines were worked on, from small single cylinder engines to large v16 engines. Work was based on a shift system, allowing for 24 hour operation. All the engines would be built from a bare block, run and tested on a dyno, then stripped and measured to ascess the wear on the engine.

Breakdown work was also required, where you would travel to a clients premises, diagnose a fault, and repair quickly, to ensure maximum inconvienence to the customer.
The work involved testing of prototype engines for different customers. Engines were installed into test beds, and then run for lengths of time to test the durability of the engine.
