- To efficiently plan, promote, organize and execute sales activities of Freightworks’ (FW) products within the territory. Ensure both the retention of all existing businesses and the gaining new businesses from all the accounts that have been transferred under the KAM’s (key Accounts Manager) responsibility.
The retention of the business is ensured through regular contact with the existing accounts, ensuring that SOPs are clear between the two companies. Any customer issues, whether commercial or operational, which is escalated to the KAM, should be addressed and corrected internally whilst involving the relevant Freightworks individuals either from operations and or commercial.
- Drive new business across the board of all the accounts allocated to the individual KAM through the development of relationships with the decision makers within each company. Review true potential through gaining of understanding of the total logistics spends of each customer individually. Acquire insights into each customer supply chain activities and then align / sell the full range of Freightworks products whilst coming up with new solutions in line with customers’ requirements which will increase efficiency / reduce costs etc. Provide bespoke solutions to customers, focusing on customer as the benefactor and building long term relationships.
- Creatively seek new business opportunities. These many include but not be limited to selling additional products, selling / gaining new trade lanes, regaining old business, and the provision of value added services.
- Exhibit a proactive attitude when interacting with customer at all times, both in resolving issues and providing new solutions to the existing customers. Obtain feedback from the customers is a continuous process, sharing that internally and ensuring continuous development of the accounts accordingly.
Procuring prices for inquiries received from the sales team by liaising with the product departments and overseas offices/agents.
Coordinating trade lane activities of Freight Forwarding
Providing the most market competitive rates to the sales and projects team to ensure that they maintain their existing business and secure new accounts
Further negotiation on rates if needed, to win the competition
Maintaining updated Price sheets for air freight and sea freight export/Import for quick reference
Analyzing RFQs receiving from customers and responds to them with pricing solutions
Providing the formal quotations to the client and network offices on time and reverting on clarifications requirements
Providing the completed tracker to the Pricing Manager for the weekly sales report.
Arranging import and export shipment deliveries for local / overseas customers
Liaise with airfreight or sea-freight dept to ensure timely delivery of customers’ shipments to various destinations
Follow up with customers or operation dept. on the delivery of shipments of the clients
Negotiate freight and transportation rates with suppliers to ensure rates are competitive and service availability
Expedite customer bookings and provide regular status updates to ensure customer satisfaction
Provide sales support to Business Development by means of responding to rate requests and arranging appointments with prospective clients
Provide support to the contract logistics team for preparing and finalizing proposals, tenders and contracts.
Send quotations to clients - both BDM clients and overseas offices and follow up on quotation
Check additional new business opportunities with potential and existing client base
Ensure monthly report updates on CRM system.
Preparation of weekly/monthly revenue report.
Co-ordinate and execute contract shipments and other assigned individual jobs
Develop new business contacts and improve department revenue
Follow-up on collection, if required, in co-ordination with Finance
Coordinate with the warehouse dept. for all the survey made for HHG shipment, coordinate for relocation movements
Responsible in sending all quotations, company profile/introduction to local/overseas clients and sending the routing information and shipment confirmation to the overseas agents.
Check incoming emails from the shipper/consignee/agents/clients and reply their enquiries about the status of the shipment.
Responds to customer and overseas enquiries in line with their respective shipments either by phone, fax or e-mail.
Answer clients in regards with their queries about freight rates and quotations.
Check shipment status by shipping line website and update the client in order to ensure up to date details has been given to the respective parties.
Responsible in maintaining the customer profile and database and other related documents such as freight rates, notices, shipping schedules and quotations.
Responsible in answering phone calls and walk in clients enquiries.
Maintain and update the database of the clients, shipping line, freight forwarding company and overseas agents.
Coordinating with the sales executive with their requirements, follows up the quotations sent and advise sales executives for the feedback.
