Design Key Roles:
• Design, review, and redesign of electrical systems to ensure full alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including design criteria reports, methodologies, specifications, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), electrical calculation reports, and other necessary documents in accordance with project requirements.
• Assess and validate design issues related to MEP systems, proposing effective alternative solutions where necessary.
• Manage the overall design process, overseeing all phases from concept to design development (DD) and construction documents (CD), ensuring efficient coordination for data acquisition and facilitating design review meetings.
• Plan and develop the electrical distribution system, estimating power demand, selecting appropriate voltage levels, determining transformer ratings, defining the earthing approach, and specifying circuit breaker ratings and fault levels.
• Perform Load Flow Analysis during the design phase to verify that all equipment, such as cables and transformers, is accurately sized to accommodate the facility’s continuous load.
• Calculate worst-case voltage drop that can be expected at the line terminals of the powered equipment (utilization voltage).
• Ensure accurate cable installation by accounting for all relevant factors affecting cable ratings, and ensure proper sizing for the required short-circuit carrying capacity.
• Conduct detailed calculations for cable current-carrying capacity, incorporating derating factors, and appropriate cable sizing.
• Perform short-circuit studies to verify the adequacy of equipment ratings, including closing and latching, and interrupt capabilities.
• Define the necessary characteristics for the system’s protection scheme, addressing various failure modes such as three-phase faults, phase-to-phase faults, single-line-to-ground faults, and double line-to-ground faults.
• Coordinate protective devices to achieve selectivity, ensuring that faulted equipment is isolated while maintaining operational integrity for the rest of the system.
• Perform Protective Device Coordination (PDC), creating time-current coordination (TCC) plots for each protective device, ensuring the system’s reliable operation and accommodating significant load changes.
• Conduct Arc Flash studies to identify maximum incident energy levels and arc-flash boundaries at every point of the network.
• Perform Transient Stability studies to determine the system’s Critical Clearing Time (CCT), assessing the maximum duration a severe fault can persist before recovery by the generators’ speed or voltage control systems.
• Analyze harmonic distortion impact in the electrical system, particularly from devices with non-linear voltage-current characteristics, such as VFDs, UPS units, and chargers.
• Design and allocate capacitors or passive filters to minimize the effect of harmonics and optimize the system.
• Ensure cable ampacity remains within specified limits, based on ambient temperature, conductor grouping, and peak loading.
• Evaluate the adequacy and safety of the subsurface Grounding Grid Design Analysis, including calculations for earth and conductor potentials for aspects including the ground potential rise, step voltage, and touch voltage profiles.
• Conduct Lightning Risk Assessments (LRA) to determine the appropriate Level of Protection (LoP) and specify surge arrester requirements for the system.

Supervision Key Roles:
• Review, evaluate, and approve electrical system materials, shop drawings, and samples, taking necessary action on submittals to ensure conformance with project specifications and design intent outlined in the contract documents.
• Review coordination/composite drawings submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist in resolving issues raised by contractors, such as requests for time extensions, change orders, and variations, while informing the Project Manager of any discrepancies identified within the contract documents and providing recommendations as needed.
• Inspect procured electrical components and materials to ensure its compliance with the required standards.
• Supervise the installation of electrical systems regularly to ensure quality control, adherence to contract documents, and compliance with approved materials and shop drawings.

• Manage the day to day of the MEP work (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting) execution on site, report and update to management the progress on regular basis.
• Manage sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors, monitoring and controlling their performance.
• Monitor project budget, track expenses, and implement cost control measure to minimize deviation and ensure profitability.
• Ensure a successful completion of the Project within the Time, Scope, Cost and Quality in respect tp constrains & approved baselines.
• Manage project schedule, monitor progress against baselines, and implement corrections to optimize productivity to meet deadlines.
• Follow up for the contractual issues related to the day-to-day running of the Project, raising variation orders whenever required.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors, providing direction, guidance, and support throughout the project lifecycle.

• Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to low-voltage and low-current systems, including power generation, distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers (MCC), communications systems, grounding and lightning protection, etc.
• Manage electrical systems for design & built projects, from conceptual design to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements, project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Prepare design documents such as, Design Criteria Report, Specifications, BOQ, electrical Calculation Report, and others as per Client requirement.
• Develop and review electrical design specifications, and drawings based on scope of work, applicable codes, and standards.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information for design development and troubleshooting.
• Studying and estimating of tenders and biddings, making actual tenders’ prices and quantities from drawings based on required specifications.
• Prepare a construction budget for MEP (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting) by studying the original plans, updating specifications, identifying costs for each phase.
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating the price.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Prepare a cost summary for the entire project, including the costs of materials, equipment, labor, taxes, insurance, and any other costs affecting the project.

• Review the overall status of the MEP works, reporting on the progress of all MEP aspects of the project.

• Develop and design of Single line diagrams (SLDs), LV distribution boards, LV switchgear, transformer, internal wiring of illumination & power as well as for earthing & lightning protection
• Develop and design of riser diagrams and layout for low current systems.
• Perform upstream & downstream circuit breakers co-ordination (cascading & discrimination).
• Perform calculation of load estimation, equipment protection, demand factor, voltage drop, short circuit & cable sizing for all substations from upstream to downstream.
• Ensure that installing activities as per design drawings, through frequent site visits and submitting the reports.
• Support the design review of new projects within the company and specific areas of expertise.
• Ensure that all documentation for design and as built drawings is managed through a proper document management system tool.
• Manage electrical activities from MEP side related to the implementation of any modification, including the activities related to the design, development, and installation of any new or modified equipment
