Position Title: Deputy Manager
Duration: January/08 to continue
Job Responsibility: • Investigates and clears major and complex transmission faults relating to the Junction Network elements in Transmission rooms and at outstations. In the event of cable damage (Fibre Optic), and arranges for repair through External Works-Maintenance
• Dark Fiber allocations, provisioning & record update for IPVPN, Cisco L-2 SW, and UMTS backhaul links.
• New circuits provisioning rerouting and ceasing (2MB, 34MB, STM-1, STM-4, STM 16, & STM 64) FOR International, Inter Emirates, GSM, UMTS and ATM traffic.
• Participating of planned activities for junction fiber and TNM equipment outages.
• Coordinates the requisitioning and mobilization of equipment, spares, tools, test instruments etc. to the technicians
• Provides technical support, documentation assistance and administrative/logistics liaison on the requirement of stores, spares, tools and test equipment. Maintains and updates the database, reports and records on the assigned activities/teams.
• Carries out the day-to-day activities of provisioning/ commissioning/ maintaining the Cable Transmission- Junction Network- elements including SDH/DXC'S/DWDM/ROUTERS/Aggr. Layer -2 SW/FO Cables and overlay systems in the Region.
