Ensure monthly reporting to Private Shareholder (Shell) of PDO via global reporting tool “Report 1”
Provide qualitative monthly, quarterly, yearly actual vs. target analysis
Ensure monthly Hydrocarbon Reporting to the Ministries, Shareholders, Third-party operators and Refineries
Ensure filing of withholding tax return to tax authorities and liaising with tax authorities for tax exemptions
Formulating and analysing Financial Statements prepared under IFRSs and the concession agreements, and getting it approved by auditors and the Board of Directors
Preparation of the notes for the Board Finance Committee meetings thrice a year
Coordinate with Government and Private shareholders on critical finance/budget/planning issues
Assist the management in the financial feasibilities of various critical projects including Renewables
Managing assets master and custodian of the write-off tool to ensure the write-off process as per the policy
Implementation of new accounting and reporting standards (e.g. IFRS 16, IFRS 15)
Assist in the working capital requirements and ensure the timely arrangement of the fund through cash calls
Participating in LEAN projects and the GEMBA walks for the process improvements
Visualisation of the existing processes maintained in the documented forms
Driving the project for the implementation of VAT in PDO
Leading the project for the implementation of Hydrocarbon Reporting and Analytics system (HYRA)
Facilitating the completion of the Internal, External and the Government audits (statutory and tax audits)
Provide training to Omani staff, graduates, and interns
Key achievements:
Applied A3 Thinking for Strategic Initiatives on the Hydrocarbon Reporting Process to improve the process and won the Silver category award in the Finance Directorate
Implementation of IFRS 16 “Leases” (review of 1200 plus contracts) and excel based lease tool
Designated as Coach by the Finance Leadership for the coaching of the Omani staff
Implemented WHT changes and automated the process and obtained WHT exemptions for vendors under Double Tax Treaties resulted in a huge tax saving
Conducted an open book review of the contractor's financial position for 3 years
Played a key role in the completion of VAT implementation project as part of process-reediness
