Ishin Hotels Group was a joint venture between Grove Capital managed funds (Soros Real Estate
fund) and Westmont Hospitality. The key objective was to invest in distressed hotel real estate in
Japan, re-position and pursue future exit options. Ishin Hotels Group was an investment, ownership,
operation and asset management platform, all under one umbrella. Ishin’s portfolio comprised 24
hotels (5.279 rooms; 3 - 4 star categories) in 2008 - 2010 across a wide range of international and
domestic Brands (

1. Implemented Marketing and PR strategies to put the Maldives Hilton as one of the best resorts
in the Indian Ocean.
2. Carried out a US $14 mil. refurbishment project at the Hilton Colombo following the damage
caused by the Bomb explosion of 1998.
3. Prepared the sale of the Hilton JAIC tower (2001).
4. Improved owner relationship and set the foundation for the future Conrad Maldives.
